Reflection Questions:
After answering and going through the outputs of your co-teachers, what do
you think are the adjustments that the teachers need to make in lesson planning?
What are the steps that you and your department/subject area teachers can do to
assist/guide them through these changes? What are the changes you need to
make
as a Master Teacher/Head Teacher as you lead your group through these
changes?
If there is a curriculum initiative by your region or division, such as developing
the Budget of Work per subject area that is based on the MELCS, how will you
guide teachers in bridging the connection of MELCS and this sample initiative?
Reflection
In this New Normal set up indeed, Lesson planning should be adjusted to the
demands of time. As per advice by the K-12 Basic Education Curriculum and through the LAC
session teachers undergone. Teachers should consider the following before preparing the lesson
plan (timeliness, clarity and students differences) by this consideration teachers will enable to
create lesson plan which is very attainable for both students and teachers. Additionally, this is based
on the concept that only confident teachers are able to implement developmentally-appropriate
teaching methods that respect the individual differences of learners which is based to the MELC’s
given to us by the Department of Education.
As a master teacher and LAC Group Leader, I can encourage and motivate my co
teachers to do things and work at their best. Because as we all know we are under the midst of
pandemic which serves as the hardest challenge in the teaching world today. I should implies that
we should follow protocols and needs in this new mode Distance learning.

3A - Lesson Design and List of targeted learning interventions + Learning tasks for
Assessment in the Modalities DL + Assessment methods in DL (optional but highly
recommended)
Reflection Questions:
How can these lists of interventions help the teachers teach better in the
new learning delivery modality? Why is it important for every teacher in your team
to have them?
What are the challenges in developing learning tasks in a Distance Learning
environment? What key competencies would you need to assist teachers in?
What is the difference in assessing students in between traditional and Distance
Learning modalities? How can you guide teachers in bridging these gaps?
Reflection
The lists of interventions such as the List of targeted learning interventions, Learning tasks
for DL, and Assessment methods in DL help the teachers teach better in the new learning delivery
modality because it assures that all possible measures will be taken to ensure that no child will be
excluded from learning during the COVID-19 crisis. It is important for every teacher to have this
list of interventions because this will serve as their guide in determining what learning
opportunities students in school will have by planning “the content of instruction, selecting
teaching materials, designing the learning activities and grouping methods, and deciding on the
pacing and allocation of instructional time”.
The challenges in developing learning tasks in a Distance Learning environment is to
consider the situation in your school or division which includes our organizational capabilities,
level of resources (infrastructure, financial, human), level of experience in DL, health and safety
status, context and capacities of your learners and their households. The key competencies that I
would need to assist teachers are in Domain 3: Focusing on Teaching and Learning (3.2)
Demonstrating knowledge and understanding of teaching standards and pedagogies within and
across learning areas to provide technical assistance to teachers for them to improve their teaching
practice.
The difference in assessing students in between traditional and Distance Learning modalities
is that in traditional learning Formative and Summative Assessments were used to measure the
performance of students; however, in this new normal, the biggest challenge in doing assessment
in DL is how to assess if students really learn something from the lesson. Implementing the distant
learning modality and in guiding the teachers in bridging the gap, the only way to gather feedback
is through retrieving and checking the modules where in they can exchange friendly conversation
with the parent on how they can support and guide their children.

3A - Lesson Design and
Assessment in the Modalities Weekly Home Learning Plan
Reflection Questions:
What makes the Weekly Home Learning Plan essential to the process of Teaching and Learning
in the new modality? What are the essential elements of the weekly Home Learning Plan will
you need to look for?
Reflection
The Weekly Home Learning Plan (WHLP) is essential to the process of teaching and learning in
the new modality since it serves as a blueprint a concrete plan to guide the learners, parents,
learning facilitators and stakeholders on what subject, objective and activities should the learner do
and accomplish to meet the required competencies in the Modular Learning Modality. The school
had provided learning modules or self-learning modules in print and e copy for those who have the
device. The school also had provided supplementary materials for the learners to help them on
their learning. The parents have conveyed their support in the implementation of this learning
modality and expressed their willingness to be partners in carrying out the plans for the modular
distance learning. As the parents monitor the progress of the learners, the weekly home learning
plan will be their basis to track down the day to day activities of their children.
The Weekly Home Learning Plan should have this essential Elements:
Date and Time indicates schedule of a particular learning area, learning competency and
learning tasks.
Learning Area which are the subjects required to be taken by the learners of a particular
grade level.
Learning Competency –that should be anchored on the Most Essential Learning
Competencies (MELC’s)
Learning Tasks- are formative learning tasks that creates opportunities for the learners to
practice and enhance the acquired knowledge and skills
Mode of Delivery- refers to the method of submission of learning outputs
3A - Lesson Design and
Assessment in the Modalities Individual Learning Monitoring Plan
Reflection Questions:
As a Master Teacher/ Head Teacher, how can you help the teachers in assisting the students
who are lagging behind? If all measures have been exhausted by the teachers and still a
certain set of students are still not performing well with the new learning modality, what are the
steps you shall take to guide teachers in addressing this matter?
Reflection
As a Head Teacher, I can help the teachers in assisting the students who are lagging behind through
the preparation of the Individual Learning Monitoring Plan which is a more specific tool which can be
used by teachers and learning facilitators for learners who lag behind as shown by the results of their
formative and summative assessments. By providing intervention strategies for a certain period, the
Individual Learning Monitoring Plan serves as the document that will show if the learner has shown
either mastery of the learning competencies, significant progress, or insignificant progress. The
monitoring plan shall serve as feedback data for learners who are provided with intervention activities;
provide a mechanism of support to learners who are lagging behind as manifested by the results of
formative and summative assessments which may be gathered through their portfolio or collected samples
of learning outputs; make the parents/guardians aware of the academic progress of their children and
encourage them to strengthen their involvement in guiding and supervising the learning of their children
at home; help decide on the effectiveness of the learning modality adopted for the learner and the possible
modifications/adjustments that should be provided to improve learner’s performance; and guide teachers
in adjusting learning content and tasks based on the characteristics, cognitive ability, readiness, interest,
and profile of the learner.
If all measures have been exhausted by the teachers and still a certain set of students are still not
performing well with the new learning modality, the steps that I shall take to guide teachers in addressing
this matter is to provide Intervention Strategies which are programs or sets of steps to help learners
improve at areas they struggle with. Intervention strategies may be any of the following form:
a. extending time of completion of tasks;
b. adjusting the level of difficulty of the learning contents/tasks;
c. providing more guided activities before proceeding to independent activities;
d. seeking for more supervised time with learning facilitator;
e. giving sample prototype learning outputs or models to serve as reference for his or her own work.
3B – Learning Resources Two (2) accomplished LR Rapid
Assessment Tools with reflections
Reflection Questions:
Given the abrupt changes that happened to the learning situation in our country
due to the pandemic, what can you do to help build the learning resources for
both teachers and students in your school?
Reflection
Facing this crisis brought by the pandemic had brought massive changes
in the delivery of instruction. The development of Learning Resources
must cater the needs of the learners. It is important that the developed
materials are content wise. It must be developed based on the MELC, it
should came from a valid source, made based on the level and capacity of
the learners, gender and culture fair, free from copyrights issue and
format should be pleasing. As a master teacher I could help in assuring
the quality of learning resources being distributed to the students through
conducting quality assurance. I will also mentor other teachers on how to
create and contextualized the materials found in a non deped source
considering the requirements found in the rapid assessment tool. I will
encourage teachers to develop a material which would be beneficial not
only for the school to use but a material which could be used also be other
schools, division and regions. In this time we need to take part in the
development of Learning Resources we should not put to waste our
creative ideas in creating an innovative materials for our students to learn
on to.

Conclusion (State the overall impact or lesson learned)
The Department of Education, pursuant to DepEd Order (DO) No. 001, series of 2020
titled Guidelines for NEAP Recognition of Professional Development Programs and
Courses for Teachers and School Leaders, support the realization of continuous
upskilling and reskilling of teachers and school leaders that will result in better
learning outcomes. Amidst the times of pandemic and global crisis, and adjusting to
the “New Normal”, the challenge is how I could become an agent of change and a
facilitator of quality education as I familiarize myself and guide my teachers with the
features, uses and pedagogies of the different LDM and its platforms. Through this
program, it will nurture me in the planning and implementation phase of the adopted
LDM of the school and how I could serve as the foundation of better teaching and
learning. Even with the challenges amidst this trying times, professional development
is a still a priority; and through my participation and guidance to teachers, we can
perform our duties and responsibilities.
