(highlight as applicable)
DART description Chn have already met the text in previous lessons and explored up to p.20.
Re-read up to p.20 of the text when we hear that the young polar bears leave
their mother after two years.

Using finger puppets model to the children what the young bear might do
next when it leaves its mother. Focus on the word ALONE (p.20) and ask the
children to talk to their partner about how the bear might feel as it goes off
to fend for itself. Talk to them about the things it would need to do based on
what we have learned so far about its behaviour.

Write up the words generated in TP discussion on the working wall around

the image of the bear. Write up the things the bear might DO outside the
bear and how it might FEEL inside the outline of the bear. Ensure these are
closely related to the information already learned. Prompt chn to justify their
responses based on the text read so far.
