Concox GPS Trackers Configuration – Mac OS

User Manual

This configuration tool enables you configure Concox GPS trackers instead of sending the SMS
commands, it can save the mobile phone SMS charges for your clients and start the installation of the
devices more quickly.

Please follow the below instructions step by step if you would like to use a Mac to configure your device.

Step 1: Extract PL2303_MacOSX_1_6_1_20160309.zip to a folder and follow the Installation Guide

inside the unzipped folder to install the USB driver.

Step 2: Extract the configuration tool CoolTerm_Mac.zip to a folder, this is a green software, there is no
installation process.

Step 3: Double click the CoolTerm icon to run the software.

Step 4: Click Options to set the parameters as below:

On Serial Port tab:
• Port: Please choose “usberial”, if it can’t be found in the drop down menu, please click “Re-Scan
Serial Ports” at the bottom side to refresh the port list.
• Baudrate: 115200
• Data Bits: 8
• Parity: none
• Stop Bits: 1
• Flow Control: CTS,DTR and XON all keep unselected
• DTR and RTS both off

On Terminal Tab, please choose Line Mode for the Terminal Mode, and keep all other settings by default.
Click OK to save all the settings.

Step 5: Use the USB cable that you purchased from Concox to connect the GPS tracker to your Mac,
turn on the device and then click the Connect button on CoolTerm to establish the connection.

Step 6: You can find the input box at the CoolTerm bottom side, follow the below format to input the
command and press the ENTER key to execute the command.

Command format for 2G models (for example: GT06N, GT800): AT^GT_CM=The commands from the
device SMS command list but no “#” pound symbol at the command end.

Command format for 3G models (for example: GT06E, GV20): AT^ The commands from the device
SMS command list with “#” pound symbol at the command end.

For example: to query the device status, the SMS command format is: STATUS#
The format sending on CoolTerm for 2G models is: AT^GT_CM=STATUS
The format sending on CoolTerm for 3G models is: AT^STATUS#
