(DSST = DANTES Subject Standardized Test)

You can receive college credit for what you already know, including knowledge acquired outside the
traditional classroom. And, you do so at a fraction of the cost of tuition - $70+fees for three credits!

There are thousands of participating colleges and universities that administer this program. There are
also 37 DSST exams offered in the subject areas of business, physical sciences, humanities, social
sciences and applied technology.

The Milwaukee Midtown Center offers DSST Exams in the paper & pencil format as well as the IBT
(Internet Based- Testing) format. They are the same exams except one is done the old fashioned 'paper
and pencil' method and the other is proctored online.

PAPER & PENCIL

You may take some time to study for your exam and then apply for it according to the deadlines on the
schedule. The exam is proctored with a test booklet and answer sheet. You will be allowed 90+
minutes for the exam and can expect your results within 2-3 weeks of taking the exam. The score
report will be mailed to you and the center.
The cost is: $70 (exam) + $20 (fee) = $90 for three credits

hours for the exam but can expect your results upon completion (instantly). You will have the option
of printing out your score report as \\ell as have an official mailed to you and the center.

DSST FAQ SHEET

It]' What is DSST and what does it stand for?
DSST is the acronym for the Dantes Subject Standardized Test. It is a way for nontraditional students to get
credit for life experiences and learning acquired outside of the conventional classroom setting. The DSST program
is a nationally recognized credit by examination program developed by The Chauncy Group International Ltd but
acquired by Thomson Prometric. This program is used in over 1,400 accredited colleges and universities with 37
exam titles covering a broad range of entry-level college curricula.
The subject areas are Mathematics, Social Science, Business, Physical Science, Applied Technology, and
Humanities.

Milwaukee Midtown currently offers pencil & paper and IBT (Internet Based Testing).

It]' How many DSST exams may I take?

You may take up to 2 exams per month with paper & pencil and unlimited per month with IBT.

It]' How often are the exams administered?

Please review the attached schedule for various dates and times. Paper and pencil is offered once a month (on
the 3rd or4th Friday) and the IBT is offered on Tuesdays and Fridays (12-4PM).

It]' How do I prepare for the DSST?

There are several tools available to assist you with preparing with the DSST. Some include: Online DSST
Practice Tests, Fact Sheets, and the Official DSST Test Preparation Guide. You may visit their website
www.getcollegecredit.com to obtain all of these resources and more.

It]' How and when do I receive my score?

Each test book and answer sheet is returned to Thomson Prometric for processing. A score report is generated
approximately four weeks after the examination has been scanned and scored. Two score reports are
automatically provided: one for the student and one for the institution designated by the student. If completed via
IBT, you will receive your score immediately following the exam.

It]' What if I don't pass?

You must wait at least six months (180 days) before retaking the same exam. If you retake an exam before the
grace period, your score will be denied and you will default to another 180 grace period.

It]' Does financial aid cover this?

NO. These payments must be made PRIOR to ordering the exams, which means you must pay out-of-pocket.

It]' Are these exams open to the public?

NO. Exams are only administered to current Concordia University Wisconsin students - onIy .

*IBT NOTES* The administrator will set the time for the start of the exams (dependent on time,
number of students and exams given). These exams are timed but the average allowed is 2 hours.
Seating is limited. You will need to pay for your exams by credit card ONLY at the time of the
exam. You will be able to print your Score Report following the IBT exam.
