The recent global outbreak of the Coronavirus put a renewed emphasis on the right of

healthcare providers to protect themselves from communicable diseases, whether by

direct or indirect contact with an infected patient. Ethical and legal questions arise

when a patient’s health history is not provided to the medical staff.

In my opinion, a patient’s health history should not be a conversation starter when it

comes to human lives. Healthcare providers must accommodate patient’s no matter their

health/medical history. Healthcare should be a basic human need. Every person should be

able to afford to visit a doctor for medical advice or surgery when in distress. I

understand this may come at a cost to healthcare providers or the federal government, but

it is necessity human right
