CHAPTER 1: BASIC NEEDS

BASIC NEEDS OF HUMANS

- Humans cannot stay alive without all these needs.

1) FOOD

- Humans need food to stay alive.

-FFood gives us energy and helps us grow.
- We need energy to walk, play and do work
- To grow and stay healthy, we need a balanced diet.
* Balanced diet- consists of the correct amounts of all kinds of food that the body needs.
- carbohydrate, protein, fat, vegetables, fruits, milk and etc.

2) WATER

- We need to drink about 8 glasses of water a day to stay healthy. We can also get water from
fruits and vegetables.
- Water helps to: a) maintain body temperature
b) carry nutrients throughout the body
c) get rid of unwanted materials from the body.

3) AIR

- Humans need air to breathe all the time. Each breath is shown by the movement of chest
- Humans cannot stay alive without air for a long time.

- A shelter is a place where we live.

1) FOOD

- Animals need food to stay alive.

- Animals need air to breathe

- They cannot stay alive for long without air.

water.
