PLACEMENT CODE OF CONDUCT 2020-21

• The Placement Week will be from January 2021(tentatively).

• Students should strictly adhere to the prescribed dress code. All students should be well-
groomed. Boys should desist from sporting a stubble, beard or funky hair styles during the
placement period.

• A student WILL BE allowed to sit for up to 5 final personal interviews. Post which the said
student will be out of the placement process. The interviews attended during the placement
week will not be counted.

• Once a student is selected by a recruiter, he/she WILL NOT be allowed to avail of subsequent
placement opportunities.

• If a student rejects a placement offer, he/she will not be allowed to avail of subsequent
placement opportunities.

• Students who already have received & accepted a PPO (Pre-Placement Offer) will not be
allowed to participate in the placement process.

• Sponsoring a student for Campus Placement is the Management’s prerogative. Management

can deny a student his / her campus placement offer in the event of a student resorting to
unacceptable behavior; during placements or academic tenure.

• All students receiving final offers are required to submit a copy of their offer letter to the
Placement Coordinator to be kept on record at the Institute. This is an AICTE requirement.
Please note that this requirement applies to ALL students who have obtained placements
through the institute, on their own or via PPOs.

• Students must promptly respond to the requests from the Placement Committee (student/
faculty) on time, for their resume submission, participation in PPTs, and / or any other
activities related to placements. Placement team should not be made to follow up again and
again. Repeated non-adherence will result in removal of name from placement process.

• In case a student signs up for a recruitment process and fails to participate in the same without
prior permission from the Placement Chairman/Co-Chair, he/she will be barred from the
Placement process with immediate effect.

• All unplaced students are expected to attend the Pre-Placement Talk (PPT) given by
recruiters if they do not have any other PPT happening at the same time. After attending the
PPT, they are free to skip the recruitment process if they are not interested.

• All students are expected to be at their best behavior at all times and especially when
recruiters are visiting the campus.

• If a student does not get selected in a recruitment process, he / she is strictly warned to desist
from communicating with the recruitment personnel later. Action will be taken against

1
students who are reported on this by the recruiters, and they will be out of the placement
process.

• Once a student has registered for the recruitment process of a company, the student
will not be allowed to withdraw from the recruitment process in between. Once students
get shortlisted from one stage to another, they should go through the recruitment
process, until final selection or rejection. If a student gets shortlisted for the next stage
and they back out subsequently, they will be out of the placement process. Therefore,
please do adequate research and think carefully before signing up for any recruitment
process.

• All these guidelines are applicable to pool-campus too, facilitated by our own Placement
Committee.

• Students should not downplay the placement opportunities based on factors like
compensation, location, etc.

• Students should not be unduly worried about contractual obligations that require them to
stick to the recruiting firm for a stated period. This is a standard practice in most organizations.

• Placed students are expected to volunteer to help in the subsequent placement sessions.

• If classes have to be missed, volunteers must obtain prior approval of Faculty Placement
team before forwarding the request for AP to Dean’s office.

• After a student is placed, he/she will not be granted leave barring exceptional cases like
bereavement of immediate family members, serious illness, etc.

• All rules of attendance at the college and hostel will continue to apply.

• Students are encouraged to attend placement interviews outside Bangalore / Kochi if they
wish to. However, prior approval from the Dean-Academics, on recommendation from
Faculty Placement team – is required in all such cases.

• Students travelling for the purpose of Placements need to take care of the cost of the travel,
lodging and boarding themselves. Based on availability of rooms, XIME hostels will be made
available to students where the institute will cover the lodging expenses as a special case.

• If some students are still left to be placed after the placement week, the process will continue
without in any way affecting the classes. In any case, Placement activity for each campus
will come to an end by their respective convocation day.

• Students are asked to follow the guidelines mentioned to them during the various training
processes conducted as digital platform will be used.

• The students are not allowed to share any of the information provided to them regarding the
methods of training provided to them as to maintain the secrecy of the work being done.

in the batch regardless of whether they attend the convocation in person or not.

• Placement Expenses of Rs.5000: This is due from all students who are accepting this
