Re: Data Driven Decision Making Suggestions

Thank you for the time and consideration given when granting me the opportunity to perform an
appraisal on the company. The appraisal and each of my suggestions is based on two factors,
assessing the company and information provided by staff and faculty members at the duration
between April 2005 and July of 2007. Accordingly, our suggestions should be molded and modified
to best fit the companies attributes and marketing details. Please do not hesitate to reach out if
questions arise, we are more than ready and willing to be of any sort of assistance possible.

COMPANY KEY-STOCKHOLDER ASSESSMENT 1 - Beverage Sales: Quantity to Price

The biggest salesman participating in the course of this data are Michelle and Mark. The chart below
demonstrates the drastic leverage in the highest to the lowest quantity and prices in regard to the sales
of beverages. Statistics show that Michelle has the most beverages sold in quantity, 1, 934 and prices
are at 1,809.356 from within the time period of April 2005 to July of 2007.
RECOMMENDATION

Key stockholders are identified through their display of initiative and interest in the company. The
observation of information shows that the top two people in sales are Michelle and Mark. The initiative,
however, should not only be displayed at the hands of just these two sales individuals. All employees
should show this type of energetic spirit and zeal for this job in sales. Employees should be helping to
motivate their workers to give their all when making sales, giving discounts, and responding to and
customer service needs. Profitability means dramatic improvement for faculty regarding employee
working conditions, thus profit margins directly affect all stockholders, and employees should be
subject to these benefits as well. While most companies base the position of a stockholder on
management and seniority, success exists within stockholders who stand in and outside of company
employees.

DATA COLLECTION TIMEFRAME 2

Data-driven decision making has proved to hold an unthinkable measure of success to businesses
and companies that rely on numerical fact. Numerical facts, otherwise known as data, play a vital
role in profitability. With that said, in the valiant effort to reduce cost and increase profit margins,
there are several forms of data that should be collected. These include both qualitative and
quantitative forms such as big data, time-stamped data, operational data, and transalytical data.
Collectivization of this data will give insight into application logs, metrics, event data, and third-
party factors. Data should be collectively recorded daily in quarterly spurts year-round, in full
aspiration of the company reaching success. The data collection timeframe also falls in line with
the 5-step business process, in that the data is set through the stage of implementation.
Implementing this data into what looks like a short amount of time, helps the company stay on
top of the readily changing circumstances, giving them a head start on their responsibility to care
thoroughly for its customers.

DATA COLLECTION PROCESS ASSESSMENT 3

In line with the endeavors to see a reduction of cost and an increase in profit margins, RGV Inc.,
data should be collected through Transactional Data Tracking. Transactional Data Tracking will
shed light on the fundamentals of the business and its customers. The data collected can be
imputed through the web platform, a third-party factor contracted to care for the technicalities of
the in-store point of sale system. This data will relay how many products are sold, what types of
products are sold popularly, and how often customers make a purchase from you. Such
transactional records should be stored in a customer relationship management system. When data
collection has been complete, it is likely to ask, “What products are we profiting the most from?
Are identical products with different branding sold at a mutual success rate? and Will lowering
the price of an identical product with different branding increase profitability?’”. Business
processes tie in very nicely when correlating data collectivization, especially when digging
through the processes of “Sales and Marketing”, leading to the most configured form of trend
analysis. Long-term trend analysis is highly advised to keep a model of relevant data at arm’s
length in company investment. The 5-step business process helps analyze, interpret, and act on
this data collectivization. Data must be look over to find hidden patterns as mentioned earlier.
Interpreting this data to its core meaning will break down the fundamental that must be met in
order to see an increase in sales, and of course, factual data holds the punch to any future action
that could make within the company.
DATA DISTRIBUTION FINDINGS – AFTER ASSESSMENT 4
Data collectivization is a product of the result that is Data Distribution. All members of the
company should be involved in this strategy. Data may be distributed through a unique set of
platforms that obtain chronological order, smallest to largest. Such distribution should be done
through data visualization, or put in layman’s terms, graphs, charts, and frequent performance
appraisals. Data visualization provides easy access to a clearer understanding of patterns,
outlines, and truths behind data. The “Sales and Marketing” business process would apply here in
that sales, production rates, and patterns in profitability will be brought to light to further enhance
what they do for a company. Marketing can also be beneficial in that it would further the
knowledge that can be concluded from data collectivization, categorizing how this data can best
fit company needs. The “Sales and Marketing” process then used that data to target consumers
and trump all surrounding competitors.
SELF ASSESSMENT
From completing this project, I have concluded that Data-Driven Decision Making can prove itself to be
very beneficial to RGV Inc., in constructing a registered plan to reduce cost and increase profitability.
Data collectivization is vital when longing to improve in the business world and grow to success. The
lesson learned above all is that collaborative and collective action from everyone inside and outside of the
company is what brings a company to reach its goals. Initiative and genuine interest in the company must
be enforced to see prosperity.
