Admission to the test is provisional subject to satisfactory completion of the Advanced ICITSS-Advanced IT
course conducted by the Board of Studies. In case it is discovered at a later date that the candidate has not
completed the Advanced IT course, his/her result may be cancelled and appearance at the test may be
treated as null and void.
In case the admit card does not bear the photograph and / or signature of the candidate, he / she is advised to paste the
photograph and affix his / her signature in the area marked on the printout of the admit card and get this page attested
by a member of the Institute ( member may indicate his / her Name, membership number, and office stamp while signing
/ attesting at the bottom of this page) and carry the same to the examination centre, in duplicate, as proof of his / her
identity. He/She will be required to hand over the original attested admit card to the examination centre, while retaining
one copy of the same, for his / her own record. He / She is also advised to carry one stamp size photograph ( matching
with the photograph affixed on the attested printout of admit card referred above) to the exam centre for affixing the
same at the appropriate place in the attendance register.

Candidates are required to produce hard copy of their Admit Card along with any other valid Original photo ID card at
the examination venue. In the absence of hard copy of Admit Card and Photo Identity Card, candidates will be denied
entry to the Examination Hall.

INSTRUCTIONS TO EXAMINEES

1. Immediately on receipt of admit card, candidates are required to check that the Admit Card bears the photograph,
specimen signature, Student Registration No. and ensure that the Roll No, Centre details, signature of the Additional
Secretary (Exams), etc. are also printed in the admit card. In case of any error, candidates are advised to contact/write
to the Additional Secretary (Exams) immediately. Admit card is valid only for the examination date and centre/venue
mentioned in the admit card.
2. Candidates are required to produce hard copy of their Admit Card alongwith any other valid Original photo ID card at the
examination venue. In the absence of hard copy of Admit Card and Photo Identity Card, candidates will be denied entry
to the Examination Hall.
3. It is advisable that every candidate visits the venue of the examination centre before hand to avoid any inconvenience
on the day of the Examination.
4. Entry to the Examination Hall will commence 60 minutes before the time specified for the commencement of the
examination in each session. All candidates should be inside the examination hall 15 minutes before the scheduled time
of the commencement of the examination. No candidate shall be permitted to enter the hall after commencement of
exam i.e.10:30 AM (IST)
5. No candidate will be permitted to leave the Examination hall till the Exam is over.
6. Candidates should carefully read and follow the instructions that appear on the computer screen at the start of the
examination.
7. The examination will be in English language only. It will be an On-line MCQ-based test of two hours duration.
8. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.
9. A candidate must carry his admit card, pen and pencil to the examination centre/hall. Candidates are required to
produce hard copy of their Admit Card.
10. Upon arrival at the exam centre, candidates are required to contact the registration Help Desk and register their
presence at the hall showing their admit card. Hence you must report to the exam centre in time. After registering
themselves, they should occupy their respective seats, as directed by the exam centre officials.
11. Log in using the user ID and password provided to you and check that your name appears in the top left-hand corner
when you start.
12. You will not be able to download or print or open any other application in your computer or access any website during
the test.
13. You should ensure as far as possible that you will not need a break during the exam. If you do need a break, you may
take it. However, please note that the exam will not be paused, and the timer will continue.
14. While you are taking a break, you are not allowed to access other items, including mobile phones, exam notes or study
guides.
15. Candidates should carefully read and follow the instructions that appear on the computer screen at the start of the
examination.
16. You will not be permitted to leave the exam hall even if you complete the test before the schedule time of conclusion.
Remain seated in your desk and do not disturb the other candidates.
17. The candidate must write his/her 9-digit Roll No. as allotted to him/her and indicated in the Admit Card on the working
sheet provided to him. The working sheet should be returned to the invigilator after the conclusion of the exam. Only
ONE working sheet will be provided to each candidate. Use it judiciously.
18. Every candidate must sign the attendance register with Pen against his/her name in the appropriate place. Candidates
should not leave the exam hall without signing the attendance sheet and taking the acknowledgement of the invigilator
on the admit card.
19. In case any computer allotted to a candidate crashes or develops some problem, during the exam, he should bring it to
the notice of the invigilator immediately. The invigilator will organize another computer for the candidate. The time
would run on the new computer, from the time the test was stopped in the earlier computer so that there would be no
loss of time for the candidate.
20. Any candidate found either copying or receiving or giving assistance will be disqualified. Any malpractice in the
examination shall attract action that is deemed as fit by the invigilator.
21. Use of calculator and/or such devices is/are not allowed.
22. No candidate shall bring with him/her into the examination hall or carry on his/her person any paper, book, notes or any
other material, nor shall he/she communicate with any other candidate in the examination hall or in the premises, when
the examination is in progress. However candidate can carry a Pen/Pencil and a blank A4 size paper shall be provided at
the centre and the candidates may do any calculations if required, on the blank sheet provided. Candidates are required
to write their Roll Numbers immediately on receipt of blank sheet(s) and to submit back to the invigilator immediately
after conclusion of the examination.
23. Every candidate will find his / her Roll No. written against the seat allotted and he / she should occupy the allotted seat
only.
24. Every candidate must sign the attendance register with Pen against his/her name in the appropriate place.
25. No eatables will be allowed in the examination centre.
26. Candidates will have to follow the instructions of the Centre Superintendent and the invigilator(s) at all stages of the
Test.
27. Smoking, chewing of tobacco, betel, intoxicant, etc. are strictly prohibited in the Examination hall.
28. Mobile Phones:
a. Mobile phones and other electronic are not allowed in the examination hall. It is clarified that mere possession of mobile phone in
the examination hall whether in switch off mode or silent mode shall also be deemed to be resorting to adoption of unfair means
in the examination.
b. Institute will not make any arrangement for safe keeping of Mobile phones, electronic gadgets, bags or any other item pertaining
to the candidates.

29. Candidates are required to maintain complete discipline in the examination hall and any misdemeanour on their part (i.e.
talking to, receiving/giving any help, copying from any text, defying instruction of the Invigilator etc.) will tantamount to
adoption of unfair means in the test. In such a situation, the candidate concerned will be expelled from the examination
hall and will be subject to such other action, as deemed fit, as per the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988. The
candidate, who had been expelled, must submit his explanation in writing through the Centre Superintendent.

30. The Centre Superintendent has absolute power to expel a candidate from the examination hall, if in his opinion, the
candidate has misbehaved or has obstructed him or any other official on examination duty in carrying out his duties.

31. In case of any inadvertent mistake or framing of the question in the question paper, may send an email at
examfeedback@icai.in within three days of the date of Advanced ICITSS-Advanced Information Technology Test stating
his/her student registration number and name.

32. Examination Centres have been advised to do frisking of candidates before entry to the examination hall/venue, to ensure
that candidates do not carry items like mobile phone, Pen Drive any electronic/smart gadgets, other items which are not
allowed in the examination hall. Candidates are required to co-operate with the examination conducting authorities.
Candidates who do not co-operate for frisking activity will be denied entry to the examination hall/venue.
33. Other Rules/Instructions/Information:
a. Candidates are not permitted to logout/switch-off the computer for the sake of going to washroom and if they log
out/switch-off, NO re-login will be permitted. Further the candidate’s are informed that the time taken for going to
the washroom would be reckoned as part of the duration of two hours permitted to them to answer the question
paper.
b. Candidates should not possess and/ or use books, notes, periodicals, etc. in the examination hall at the time of examination / or
use mathematical tables, slide rules, stencils etc. during the examination.
c. If the examination could not commence on scheduled time or there is delay due to failure of power, technical snag of whatsoever
nature or for any such reason having bearing upon the conduct of examination; candidates have to:-
i. Wait till resumption of power supply/solving of technical snag.
ii. Take-up the examination at other venue arranged by the examination Centre Superintendent.
iii. Follow instructions given by the examination Centre Superintendent.
d. In case of failure of power or any technical snag of whatsoever nature occur during the examination and the system becomes
non-functional, the time lost till resumption of the system, would be compensated corresponding to such loss of time.

34. The following are not permitted:-


a. Attempting to take the examination for someone else, i.e. Impersonation;
b. Giving or receiving assistance of any kind during the examination, and communication in any form with other candidates or with
outsiders, etc.;
c. Leaving the test centre without the permission from the invigilator / before the specified time
d. Using prohibited aids, items not allowed, such as – mobile phones, pen drive, Tabs, notes, papers (except your Admit Card),
electronic diaries, watch alarms, listening devices and recording or photographic devices.
e. Attempting to copy examination questions and /or examination responses (in any format) from the examination centre.
f. Any misconduct or misbehaviour or creating disturbance in the exam.

35. Candidates are required to strictly follow all the instructions/rules including those given by the examination Centre Superintendent
during the examination. Violation of any of the rules/instructions will tantamount to adoption of unfair means. In such a situation,
the candidate concerned will be expelled from the examination hall and will be subject to such other action, as deemed fit, as per
the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988.
