 CENTRAL BATTERY SYSTEMS
Central battery system based emergency lighting is
ideal for larger projects.
There are many reasons for this, the main ones being:
a) Central battery installations are generally much
easier to maintain than self contained installations
and so, will often be the most cost effective
solution once long term maintenance costs have
been taken into account.
b) Central systems can be designed to run normal
mains fittings at full output during both mains
healthy and mains failed conditions.
On projects with large open areas, particularly
those with high mounting heights, the use of mains
fittings operating at full output under emergency
conditions can greatly reduce the number of
emergency luminaires required.
Cooper Lighting and Security manufactures a wide
range of Central battery systems for emergency
lighting applications. Standard products include
AC/AC static inverter systems starting with a compact
low cost 500VA system ideal for providing a modular
emergency lighting solution to minimise the amount of
wiring to the emergency luminaires, and rising to
30KVA single phase systems. Cooper Lighting and
Security also manufactures traditional AC/DC systems.
In addition to the range of systems which are
designed for emergency lighting applications,
the company also manufactures battery systems for
other applications such as standby power supplies
or switchgear control.

They carry out full automatic testing of the entire
emergency lighting system including continuous
monitoring of parameters such as incoming mains
supply and battery charger status along with regular
automatic functional and discharge testing of the
luminaires.

Sintralite is a flush mounted 8 watt luminaire available
in a choice of white, brass and chrome finishes.
The fitting incorporates a spring clip mounting system
and clip together assembly to provide a quick and
simple installation.

Modern styled low profile interior surface luminaire
with a maximum depth of only 50mm. Ideal for use
as a decorative luminaire or as an exit sign by the
addition of a self adhesive legend kit (ordered
separately).
Self test versions eliminate the cost and inconvenience
of manual testing by automatically providing a
warning if remedial action is required. Versions are
also available for use with the Easicheck central

WAYLITE 800
High performance exit sign supplied with a universal
internally applied self adhesive legend kit, and
incorporating a substantial downlighter panel.
Apart from illuminating the panel to the requirements
of EN1838, the fitting also provides significant
illumination of the escape route thus minimising the
number of additional emergency luminaires necessary
to achieve the required lighting levels.

2 universal self adhesive legend kits and a decorative
skirt.
To enhance the resilience of the product and for ease
of installation, the legend kit is fitted to a clear plate
which then fastens to the inside of the diffuser.
