REFLECTIONS ON HOLINESS

WHAT ARE THE IMPEDIMENTS OF REALIZING PERFECTION AND

HOLINESS?

There’s a lot of hindrances or impediments in human race to realize

the perfection and holiness. First, is having a lack of interest in prayer, most
of the people are busy in their jobs and businesses these are the reasons
why they not giving a time to pray and because of thinking that “ Lord is
gracious” in time that instead to pray they would rather have to rest for
another day of duty. Second, is being a sloth, this sign is absence of desire
for and delight in the house of God. If in this state you can easily find
excuses for absence from prayers and class meetings. Lastly, is the people
who always said that they must wait the Lords time. What strange things
the enemy souls can get us to believe, when the soul is cleansed it with
then be dead to both carnal hurry and carnal sloth. This idea of waiting is
virtually an attempt to deliver ourselves independent of the blood. This
round of waiting, wishing, hoping, expecting, desiring, but never obtaining.
Quit it now, by hold of the promises, and your legal years will be ended. As
Wesley says, you shall not be disappointed of your hope; it will come and
will not tarry. Look for it every day, every hour, every moment. Why not this
hour, this moment? Certainly you may look for it now, if you believe it is by
faith.

AS A PERPETUALITE LETS SAY AS LIMITED BY THE PANDEMIC,

WHAT ADVANTAGES DO YOU HAVE IN STRIVING TO BECOME HOLY
AND PERFECT IN THE PURSUIT OF YOUR STUDIES?

As a perpetualite, the advantages I have in stiriving to become holy

are; First, is practicing self control, because you will never escape
temptation, even if you do start exercising holiness in your life. When you
face temptation, though you will need to control the harmful desire to give
into it to maintain any degree of holiness. You need to guard yourself
against the weaknesses of character that can distract you from God. These
weaknesses include things like pride, hate, lust, envy, gluttony and
slothfulness. Second, preparing mind and heart. Because setting your mind
to action means making a clear, determined effort to abandon sinfulness
and follow God in holiness. Lastly, praying for holiness. Even I can’t go to
church, I can do it at home. Praying for holiness do not need to be long,
extravagant, or eloquent. Something simple is perfectly fine as long as you
pray if from your heart. Ask the Lord Jesus to bless your soul. When you
desire to live holy, dedicated, or devoted to the service of God, realizing
that you must serve others, you must ask God to help you. For example,
your prayer could be as simple as “God, let me thirst for holiness more than
I thirst for wordliness, and make me holy in every aspect of my character
and actions.”
