Wristwarmer *Duett*
Yarn: soft sock yarn (fingering weight - 420 m/460 yd per 100 g)
Size: Length 20 cm (8 in), Circumference 16 cm (6.25 in) - Needle Size: double pointed needles 2.5
to 3.0 mm (US size 1 to 2, UK size 13 to 11)
Yardage: approximately 150 m (170 yd)

Cast on:
Cast on 48 stitches loosely and join to work in the round.
Helpful hint: You may also cast on 49 stitches and knit a few rows in garter stitch. Then, join to work in the
round and knit the last and first stitch together = 48 stitches.

Pattern:
The pattern combines eyelet rounds

purled rounds

and areas in stockinette stitch.

Distribute the patterned rounds as you like.

Work at least 2 stockinette rounds between the patterned rounds.

knit purl

yarn over k2tog = knit 2 stitches together

pick up the strand between last and next stitch with the left needle, knit it through the back loop

2 possible pattern combinations:
In these examples, all rounds are charted.

Thumb Gusset:
After approx. 15 cm (6 in), start with the gusset:

1. round: k44, , k4, - 2. round: knit

3. round: k44, , k6, - 4. round: knit

5. round: k44, , k8, - 6. round: knit

7. round: k44, , k10, - 8. round: knit

9. round: k44, , k12, - 10. round: knit

Place the 14 stitches of the thumb gusset on a stitch holder or a thread of waste yarn.

Hand:
Close the gap at the thumb gusset by casting on 4 stitches using the half-hitch method (=48 stitches).
Join to work in the round, continue in your chosen pattern until you have reached the desired length and
bind off loosely.
Helpful hint: End with a combination of patterned rounds to avoid a curling edge.

Thumb:
Pick up the 14 stitches from the holder.
At the connection to the hand, pick up and knit 6 stitches = 20 stitches.
Work patterned rounds until you have reached the desired length. Bind off loosely.
