Dr.R.RAVANAN joined Tamil Nadu

Government Collegiate Service as Assistant
Professor in Statistics. He serviced as a faculty
in Government Arts College Tirutani and
Presidency College, Chennai. As a Head of the
Department of Statistics, he organized several
workshops and conferences at Presidency
College inviting Eminent Scholars like
Professor S.R.S. Varadhan Abel Prize Awardee
(Equivalent to Nobel Price) in Mathematics.

As Principal, Presidency College, he organized

several functions inviting distinguished
personalities like Shri. M.Venkaiah Naidu,
Hon’ble Vice President of India. He also
projected Presidency College to Achieve 3rd
Rank in its performance by NIRF, New Delhi

As an academician, he guided several scholars for their Ph.D and published research
papers in Journals of repute. He has delivered more than 350 lectures for the benefit of
Scientists in various fields like – Medicine, Engineering, Social Science, etc., on the
applications of Statistics using SPSS and AMOS. He also served as an EC member of
Indian Society for Probability and Statistics (ISPS), a well reputed Professional Society
for Statistics. He is also present and dynamic Secretary of the Society. This society is
also planning to organize a mega event at Tirupathi during September 2020, to celebrate
the 100th birthday of Living Legend in Statistics Prof. C.R.Rao, Padma Vibhushan
Awardee

Dr.Ravanan is currently Joint Director of Collegiate Education, Chennai Region, Chennai

Received “ASIRIYAR SEMMAL” (Best Teacher of Dr.Radhakrishnan Award) award

for the year 2014 from “Tamilnadu Institute for Educational Research, Chennai”

Received Award of “Outstanding Contribution in the Field of Education” from

Heartfulness Institute, USA on June 2, 2018

Received the Prestigious “Dr. A. P. J Abdul Kalam Life Time Achievement National
Award” for the remarkable performance in Teaching, Research, Publications and
Administration from International Institute for Social and Economic Reforms,
