It is both and honor and a pleasure to provide my highest endorsement and recommendation for DePaul
University graduate, Ms. Andrea Morgeson as the most worthy candidate for the position of teacher. I came to
know Ms. Morgeson as a student in my graduate courses in Secondary Education. This recommendation comes
with extensive evidence of her skill, proficiency, expert communication, outstanding collaboration skill, and
most important her value-centered approach to teaching and learning.

As her professor, I can attest to Ms. Morgeson’s outstanding character, intellect, and oral and written
communication. In class discussions, Ms. Morgeson offered moving and inspirational insights that were
eagerly affirmed by classmates. Her personable, compassionate presence, her respectful and engaging
demeanor, and genuine warmth engendered her to her classmates and to me. Ms. Morgeson would consistently
go above and beyond any expectations I had for my students and initiate quality discourse that exemplified her
care and compassion toward others and students. She brought a depth and quality to each course encounter, to
the classrooms where she did her field experience, and to each endeavor that was unparalleled.

As Ms. Morgeson’s professor, I am consistently impressed by her level of intellect, insight, and intelligent
discourse about each aspect of effective teaching and curriculum planning. Her spoken and written words are
consistently of the highest caliber and flawless in execution. Her expertise and vast experience in journalism
allows her to engage with students within a context vital to their development of not only academic skills but
skills relevant to practical application in the world of work. As a professor, I experience Ms. Morgeson as
highly motivated, responsible, respectful, and a genuine collaborator with all. During our time together, her
preparation for class was consistently outstanding. Her analysis and contributions to our class projects brought
a depth of insight and understanding that motivated new learning in her peers. As an individual, I have found
Ms. Morgeson to be a woman of great character, integrity, compassion, and empathy. She is a visionary who is
goal directed and ambitious.

Having been an educator for over 30 years, as a former secondary teacher, guidance counselor, assistant
principal, high school principal and now as a professor, I can say with complete confidence that Andrea
Morgeson is one of the most intelligent, insightful, dedicated, and effective teachers I have ever encountered.
Joanne brings heart and meaning to her teaching. Who she is, the talents she has innately, combined with her
gained knowledge and skill make her a transformational, innovative teacher who will undoubtedly touch the
hearts and minds of her students and make a meaningful impact in their lives and in whichever school she
works.

I give Ms. Morgeson my highest recommendation, as she will assuredly enrich her students and school with the
