Jennifer Clark gives advice on video
marketing

If you use YouTube, use its editing features. You can put annotations on a video, for instance.
This makes it easy to share additional information, such as a link or a coupon code.

Interviews make great videos. Have a friend or a colleague interview you if you want to give
some details about your business and products or interview some customers if you want to share
some original reviews of your products. If possible, find an expert in your field who is willing to
be interviewed on your products.

If you have a brick and mortar store, don't think online videos can't work to promote your
business. They can, and do. Start with a video tour of your shop, introducing yourself and
showcasing your best products and services. Done correctly, video marketing can help
personalize your business and reach new customers. So, turn on that camera and show the world
why they should trade at your shop.

While videos need to stand alone based on their content, they must still be promoted. After you
upload your videos, try promoting them via social networks, newsletters, blogs, and the like. It
takes time for videos to rank organically in search engines, so they need a push to let people
know they exist.

The most popular type of searches online is finding out how something is done. When you make
a video tutorial, people looking for information on that subject will find your video, resulting in a
viewer base that reflects your niche market. If you seem like an authority, people will be
interested in seeing what other videos you have.

Consider running a contest where your customers submit videos they've created for your
company, and then run those videos periodically in place of your own. Customers love to see
their name in lights, and these great pieces of art will help promote your company and may even
become viral over time.

Be sure the page the video is on also has an opt-in option for your mailing list. People who enjoy
your videos may wish to sign up for your newsletters after viewing your videos.

YouTube comment search is a great way to find videos on the topic you're planning to use in
your next video. This allows you to see what other people are talking about, and then you can
either answer their questions or come up with new information that isn't currently being
provided.

Start off in the middle of the action. Don't start by saying, "Hello, I'm so-and-so," or you'll lose
the viewer instantly. If you plan to run with the bulls, start the video while you're running! If you
make the viewer do a second take, they won't move on to the next video.

Don't forget to link back to your website in your video's description if it is posted on Facebook,
YouTube, or another third party website. There is no point in trying to market your brand if you
don't plan to bring those customers to your site once they're done viewing!

It is important to add your URL to your video. It is fairly easy to add a text box to your video,
and this text box should contain information like your URL and the name of your website. This
helps make it easier for video viewers to find your website.
To get more videos for your site, try having a contest. They can tell a joke, do something funny,
or create a how-to. Sharing user videos is a great way for your customers and you to learn more
about each other.

If you decide to create a series of videos, it is important that you remain consistent. Try using the
same length and format for your videos and use similar title pages and credits, so viewers easily
recognize your video marketing campaign. If possible, release your videos on a certain day of the
week to build anticipation.

Jessica Jenkins Jessica Jenkins's best tips on
video marketing

The first thing you have to do with video marketing is to give it a try. The more you experiment,
the better your outcomes will become. Try everything which comes to mind and then figure out
what works and what doesn't. This is the best way to make video marketing successful.

An excellent method of engaging with your viewers is video marketing. Try asking viewers to
ask questions in video form and then answer then this way. Give them some samples if their
ideas get picked for the video to motivate people to watch.

After you have shot your video, include the URL at the end of your video. This will allow others
to visit your website for more information about your products. This can easily be accomplished
using standard video editing software. Most of these can be found online for free or at a nominal
cost.

Engaging titles are very useful for video marketing novices. A powerful and relevant title will
draw viewers to your videos. Your title will also give them an idea of what to expect from your
video. Take time to make relevant and creative titles for great video marketing.

Begin your video by telling your viewers what you are going to teach them or share with them.
After that, follow through on your promise and deliver the content. If you state clearly what you
are going to do and then do it, viewers are more likely to watch your videos again.

When searching YouTube for ideas, don't forget to use the * wildcard operator. This allows you
to find videos, which are similar but not identical to your search terms. For example, "How to * a
book" may lead you to some crafty questions and answers about working with books creatively.
Make sure that your videos are promoted in a two-fold fashion. Let your existing core audience
know that new content is up via your blog and email or newsletter list. However, also make sure
to promote it to new readers through social media posts and search engine optimization
techniques within your budget.

A major mistake of people new to video marketing is they try to design their videos like a
commercial. This is a big turn off. People do not want to watch commercials on their computers.
Instead, try to make your videos about happenings in your industry or events at your business.
If you plan to begin a video marketing campaign, put some time into designing a YouTube
channel for your business. This will make your videos easy to find, and if a viewer enjoys the
first video, they will have multiple others right at their fingertips. This organized, clustered way
of presenting your videos will help to draw more viewers and thus more customers.

Spending some money on a digital microphone is a great investment. It is easy to find a device
that will capture your video with good clarity of the picture. However, sounding well might not
happen with the same device. Your authoritative and confident voice can do things no video
picture ever will.

Video marketing does not have to be complicated. One of the most popular formats is simply a
regular video, without any bells and whistles included. Of course, if you can, those videos with
flash animations have also proved popular, as well as picture slide shows with a voice over and
music.

Put your video on several sites, but use an alternate description and title for each. This will allow
you to put in the keywords that your target market searches for the most. In addition, don't forget
to put in your business number. If someone has additional questions, they can call you.

Keep your logo prominently placed in your video, but make sure it doesn't interfere with the
content. Many companies use a translucent version of their logo to ensure that everything behind
remains visible while people will know throughout the video who has produced it and where
they can go afterward to learn more.

Robert Perry's tips on video marketing

If you want to make a video to market your product, you should make it short and sweet. Many
people are not willing to spend a lot of time watching a video online. If you must have a longer
video, consider cutting it up into a few other videos so people can continue on later.

Find the right person for the video. Perhaps you are not as comfortable in front of the camera as
you need to be. Speak to your employees, or perhaps your friends, to find someone who can be
an effective cheerleader for your company. This will enhance the promotion of the product and
get more people to view it.

Keep YouTube at the forefront of your mind. All video marketing efforts need to begin here.
You can host videos for free. It is also one of the highest viewed websites. It is the second largest
search engine and is by far the most popular place to view videos.

Explore Google Search Stories. This tool allows you to show your audience different things on
Google, such as results for a certain search query, pictures, and maps. This could be a good way
to document your online presence, show your audience your featured blog posts, or create a
guide to assist customers as they order your products.

If you want to create videos of yourself talking to your audience, keep in mind that your
appearance and diction are important. Take the time to do your hair, pick some nice clothes and
apply some makeup. Make sure the lighting works to your advantage, and do not hesitate to do
multiple takes if your diction is not perfect.

Make thought-provoking videos. No matter what your video is about, try to have your viewers
communicate with you about the content. This can easily be done by having comments enabled
on your videos. You could try asking for their feedback about something you talked about, or
you could end your videos with questions that you'd like them to answer about related topics.
When using video marketing, keep in mind that content is the key. Using content that is untrue or
meant to mislead your viewers can be damaging to your business. Always make sure that your
videos are accurate and informational. Providing a good source of information will keep people
coming back.

Video marketing can seem like a difficult nut to crack. It is much easier to do if you inject some
humor into your videos. This will always entertain your viewers and keep them coming back for
more. Be careful with this strategy and show your videos to others before publishing. You could
end up not being funny and making your business look bad.

Consider hiring someone to take care of sound. You should record the sound on a separate
device as your camera. This will ensure the highest possible quality; however, this can be

8|Page
difficult without experience. If you do not have experience with this, you will definitely want the
help of someone that does.

Using the right keywords is important when marketing your video. Keywords will help people to
find you through search engines. Try to use phrases along with single words. For instance, if
your video is about cookies, you can use the phrase "baking chocolate-chip cookies." This will
allow you to be found much easier.
Keywords, just like in SEO, need to be used on the videos you post to YouTube as well. Include
them in the title, description, and tags so that those who are looking for what you're discussing
can easily find you. Google will use this information to index your video as well.

When posting a video on your website, surround it with descriptive text, so Google knows what
the video is about. You don't have to provide a transcript, although that can be helpful as well.
You should give at least a short blurb about what the video discusses without giving away the
juicy bits.

To succeed in video marketing, you must keep your videos short. The Internet is an entirely user,
controlled, fast-paced environment. Potential customers are simply not going to sit through a
long 30-second advertisement. To get as many views as possible, make entertaining videos that
are short and to the point.

Nancy Owens gives top tips on video
marketing

Do not assume that the salespeople at your company are the ones that will look best in front of
the camera. Find the person in the office that has the best smile and have them be the face of the
company. Nobody has to know that your company spokesperson is a janitor or secretary.
Help potential customers find your videos by using strong keywords. If you have a YouTube
channel, you should take the time to write descriptions for all your videos and share links to your
main site. Choose strong keyword's potential customers are likely to use when they look up
videos on topics related to your products.

Begin your video by telling your viewers what you are going to teach them or share with them.
After that, follow through on your promise and deliver the content. If you state clearly what you
are going to do and then do it, viewers are more likely to watch your videos again.
Don't overlook YouTube. You should always use YouTube first. It doesn't cost anything. Not
only that, but YouTube is the number three website in terms of the number of visitors. YouTube
is the most trafficked site for videos and the second most for searches. Don't underestimate it!
Are your customers having trouble using your product? If so, then create a tutorial video that will
instruct them on how to properly use it. You won't just be giving information to customers but
attracting new customers, also.

Does your business have any employees or colleagues? If so, then involve them in your videos.
Try to choose someone who likes the camera and has clear speech. If you have more than one
employee or colleague who fits this description, then don't be afraid to use each one.

It's always in your brand's best interest to encourage viewers to take some sort of action or follow
through with a request. This is what is commonly referred to as a "call to action." For instance, if
you'd like your audience to subscribe to a newsletter, give them the option of clicking a link
within your video description. The key to success is to make these actions easy for your viewers.
Keep in mind that some people surf the Internet using large screen televisions for their monitors.
YouTube accepts large video files now. So, do not turn your nose up at high-definition content.
Someone looking at your content on a fifty-inch plasma will not buy from you if they just see
pixels.

Whenever anyone asks a question in the comments on your videos, consider if you can answer
them in another video. If you think about it, you can come up with a humorous answer which
provides them with the information they seek along with a fun video; if others would like to
watch, all the better!

Make video marketing a part of your strategy, but do not rely on it entirely. Remember, it can be
expensive to continuously post new videos. In addition, it can be time-consuming to make them

10 | P a g e
and put them up online. Therefore, while they are very valuable, you should engage in other
tactics as well.

Hire a professional to handle the lighting. Shooting a video that looks professional can be
difficult without experience. If you want to give your viewers the best impression possible, you
should hire someone to guarantee that. If you cannot afford a professional, you may be able to
hire a film student who can meet your needs.

Do not be afraid of posting your videos. You may think that they are terrible, but for the most
part, you are your own worst critic. It is okay if you aren't a video professional and don't have all
the latest equipment. Create videos to the best of your ability, and post them. Nothing ventured is
nothing gained.

If you are using social media to market your business, try responding to comments and questions
with videos. This is easily done with a webcam, and this kind of video marketing adds a personal
touch to your responses. When people can see the person instead of just reading text, it gives
them the feeling that their comments are valuable and heard.

11 | P a g e
Michael Rogers Michael Rogers's suggestions
on video marketing

When making videos for marketing purposes, it is a good idea for you to talk to your audience
honestly. If people get the idea that the only thing on your mind is making a profit, that will
make them more likely to do business elsewhere. While there is nothing wrong with wanting to
turn a profit, you must always think of your customers first.

Communicate regularly with others in your niche. Not only is this a good way to share advice
and ideas, but you can also share marketing. Many bloggers or webmasters often allow the
posting of contributions by site visitors. When you can get your message out to a larger customer
base within your niche, you will enjoy more success.

Don't be overly complicated in your videos. If you use a lot of technical terms and industry-
specific language, you are going to bore your viewers. Make your videos for the layperson. If
technical language is required, make a second video to offer a deeper insight into the topic for
the more advanced viewer.

You do not necessarily need strong production values in order to have an effective video. You
don't need professional gear if you can keep the image focused and balanced. There is no need to
script the video either. Simply relax and act as you normally would act. Look into the camera
and talk. This might not even be required. You can just use your voice narrating screenshots and
give presentations without ever having to be shown on the video.

Put together some credits for your videos. You should give a title to your videos, list the names
of the people who appear in your videos or who helped you, and of course give some details
about the products featured in the videos. Make sure you add a link to your main site and
encourage viewers to visit it for more information.

If you want to film yourself talking about your products or demonstrating them, you should put
together an outline for your video before you start. Make a list of all the points you feel are
important and organize them logically so your video is easy to follow. Remember that you can
edit your video to organize different points in a logical order too.

12 | P a g e
People love competition, which is why holding a video contest is such a great marketing
strategy. Ask viewers to create their own videos and then have everyone vote on them. This will
help drive viewers to your site and energize them by giving them a chance to win something.
Video tutorials are a great way for you to get in touch with a much wider audience. When people
do not know how to do something, they have the tendency to look online for advice. Having
videos that will teach what they want to know will make you an expert in their eyes.
You cannot just put videos online and think they'll go viral overnight. It's important to give it
some good marketing via social media, your own website, and personal emails. People need to
know that your video exists to watch it.

When you upload a video to YouTube, also upload it to Facebook, and vice versa. You should
use the embed code from Facebook on your site instead of YouTube as Facebook followers tend
to be more lucrative than YouTube followers, and you're working to build your brand with the
video you post.

If you are making a video about a new product, keep it simple and short. Not a single viewer is
going to sit through a ten or 15-minute video about your latest product. If they want more
information, have your contact information listed and give them a one on one demonstration. For
your videos, keep it short and to the point.

When creating a description on YouTube, place your URL at the start. For example, start with
www.mysite.com and then continue with your full description on the next line. This cements the
idea that this video is tied with that website, and anyone who wants to find out more can go there
to find the answers they seek.

13 | P a g e
Robert Murphy's words of wisdom on video
marketing

To help people notice your videos, you should develop a title that is eye-catching and mind-
bending. Use a play on words or a rhyme to help people remember the name of your video. You
should also use your primary keyword and, if possible, at least one or two associated keywords.
Ask your customers to create their own videos. You could, for instance, organize a contest and
ask customers to film themselves while they use your products. Reward the best videos with an
interesting prize and use the submitted videos as promotional material for your social media
marketing campaign and for your website.

People love tutorial videos, so it is important to use them if you can. Walking people through
how to do a certain task with clear and precise steps will most likely land you more viewers.
People really appreciate it when you make the steps as simple and easy as possible.
Try using others in your videos. This will give people the idea that you are not full of hot air.
While it may be a little difficult to convince someone that the people in your video are truly fans
of you and your products, it comes across better than always doing videos alone.

Put together some credits for your videos. You should give a title to your videos, list the names
of the people who appear in your videos or who helped you, and of course give some details
about the products featured in the videos. Make sure you add a link to your main site and
encourage viewers to visit it for more information.

Begin your video by telling your viewers what you are going to teach them or share with them.
After that, follow through on your promise and deliver the content. If you state clearly what you
are going to do and then do it, viewers are more likely to watch your videos again.
People love competition, which is why holding a video contest is such a great marketing
strategy. Ask viewers to create their own videos and then have everyone vote on them. This will
help drive viewers to your site and energize them by giving them a chance to win something.
Always watch your videos before you publish them. This may sound like a simple and obvious
statement, but it is necessary. Watch your videos and make sure there are not any mistakes.
Make sure you sound good, and the quality is good. The videos are a reflection of your company,
so if they look bad, so does your business.

While a single video can do a great job, a series of videos keeps viewers coming back for more.
Have each new video pick up from where the last left off, and you'll find people return to your
site just to see what's coming next, and they might even buy while they wait.
All of your videos should be as timeless as possible. When talking about a product release or a
new product, it could be difficult to make a video that people will want to watch six months from
now. If you focus on the product and not the release date, you will be creating a video that
people will watch in the future.

14 | P a g e
Great audio and video equipment make for a great video. If you use old crappy equipment, you'll
get an effect you might not expect. That doesn't mean that the effect isn't what you want, so play
with the equipment you use until you get the video that matches the tone you wish it to have.
When producing a video testimonial for your products, let your satisfied customers do the
talking. Instead of creating a 100 percent scripted dramatization, allow the customer to speak
openly and naturally about their experience. Many consumers prefer to rely on personal
testimonies over the canned words of a salesperson or marketer.

Content is king on a website, in a magazine, or in an online video. What you put out to the world
not only tells them who you are but also what you're about. If you want them to become clients
or customers, you have to give them what they're looking for in a fun format.

15 | P a g e
William Rivera on video marketing

You should create a video to document your typical day at work to give your customers an idea
of how products are created and shipped. Introduce your colleagues, show your workspace, and
follow the different steps you go through to complete an order. The goal of this short
documentary is to convince viewers that you are a trustworthy professional.
Your videos can also promote the rest of your marketing mix. If you are found by someone by
chance, you want them to find you elsewhere too. You can drive traffic to other sites you own by
promoting them within the video. Linking to your videos through social media boosts traffic
greatly.

Use videos to answer your viewers' questions. This is an awesome opportunity to provide
relevant information that your viewers will want to see. When making your video, state the
question, then the answer, and finally explain how you came up with that answer. This is not a
time to be coy. You will need to explain in detail the answer.
Be consistent. While you don't want all your videos to look alike, you should maintain the same
flair and tone throughout. Someone who has seen your work before should be able to recognize it
almost instantly. This is true for video marketing and all the other types of marketing that you
engage in.

Tripods are a video marketer's best friend. Shaky cameras are only for scary movies! If you are
using videos for marketing, you should have a steady shot. It is within the initial seconds that
viewers make their decision to continue watching, which means you need to make it worthwhile.
Make sure you are posting videos on a regular, consistent basis. This requires that you put in the
work and actually post numerous videos. Although your videos shouldn't be of terrible quality,
you should not worry so much about the quality that you are neglecting to post any videos at all.
You can't expect to have results in your video marketing campaign without many videos.
Keep your logo prominently placed in your video, but make sure it doesn't interfere with the
content. Many companies use a translucent version of their logo to ensure that everything behind
remains visible while people will know throughout the video who has produced it and where
they can go afterward to learn more.

A great way to generate new and unique content for your video marketing is to interview people
at trade shows and conferences within your industry. This will generate buzz throughout your
industry, and these people will want to share the content that you publish. You will create great
content and establish yourself as a professional in your industry.

Don't think in terms of a single video. Think of an entire series of videos, which can become a
marketing campaign. If you create a show which appears every week on a specific topic, for
example, people will come back to see what's new, and you'll grow a loyal viewer base.
Demonstrate how to use your product on video. This can be a great way for you to show your
customers how they are going to experience your product. Either make a video and go step by

16 | P a g e
step or try having a music track under a mere demonstration. This will help people feel more
confident about buying from you.

Try doing a parody to get views for your online marketing video. Imitating a popular video or
personality with parody will generate thousands of views, especially if you can coordinate your
timing with real-life happenings. Use politics and celebrities or mimic the most popular ad on
TV and see how fast your video takes off!

Do not be afraid of posting your videos. You may think that they are terrible, but for the most
part, you are your own worst critic. It is okay if you aren't a video professional and don't have all
the latest equipment. Create videos to the best of your ability, and post them. Nothing ventured is
nothing gained.

How-to videos are a great way to promote your business. It is very important that you include all
of the information that is needed. There is nothing more annoying than a video that requires a
purchase before releasing how-to information. The videos you show reflect your business, so be
sure to make them with your viewers in mind.
