By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to:
1. Explain advantages and disadvantages of plans and ambitions by working in pairs to discuss two
LEARNING things (the differences between the two types of computers and what they like/dislike about

2. Organise, sequence and develop ideas within a text of several paragraphs on familiar topics by
writing 4 short paragraphs about the advantages and disadvantages of laptop/desktop
computer

PRE-LESSON: (10 minutes)
1. Pupils participate as a class to answer a quiz about computer-related vocabulary from previous lessons.

LESSON DEVELOPMENT: (40 minutes)


1. Pupils turn to Full Blast page 17 and look at 2 pictures (laptop and desktop computer) and read the words and phrases in the boxes.
2. Pupils quickly review connectives that introduce similar and contrasting ideas by brainstorming as many connectives as possible.
3. The list of connectives is written on the board for pupils to refer in the later activity.
4. Pupils work in pairs to discuss two things (the differences between the two types of computers and what they like/dislike about each
type of computer using a table by stating at least 2 advantages and 2 disadvantages for laptop and desktop computer. (Main Skill)
5. All the pairs take turns to present the advantages and disadvantages of using a laptop or a desktop computer.
6. All the advantages and disadvantages are written on the board and pupils copy them down in their exercise book.
7. Using the ideas listed on the board, pupils compose 4 short paragraphs about the advantages and disadvantages of laptop and
desktop computer. (Complementary Skill)

POST-LESSON: (10 minutes)


1. In pairs, pupils discuss at least one new word/phrase that they have learnt today. (Self/Peer Assessment)
2. Teacher collect responses from pupils. (Lollipop sticks)
3. Teacher sums up today’s lesson.
