I. INTAKE CAPACITY*
Constituent Engineering College of the University
Contact centres may be deleted added at the time of admissions. If minimum of 15 candidates are not admitted /
registered, that centre may be deleted and students may be adjusted at different contact centres.
II. The course shall be of a minimum duration of 4 years and a maximum of 8 years. There shall be a Contact Programme at
the centres allotted, for a period of 3 to 4 weeks in every academic year. Attendance at the Practical classes of the Contact
programme is compulsory. The contact centre allotted at the time of admission is final and there will not be transfer to
other contact centres either for contact programme or for examination.
III. ELIGIBILITY:
a) Educational Qualifications:
Only those candidates who have obtained a Diploma in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering,
Electronics and Communication Engineering and Computer Science & Engineering from the State Board and Technical
Education of Andhra Pradesh State or any other Diploma in Civil / Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics and Communication
Engineering and Computer Science & Engineering recognized by the Government of Andhra Pradesh, as equivalent thereto,
are eligible for admission to the B.Tech. Correspondence-cum-Contact Course in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering,
Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Computer Science & Engineering as
the case may be. Other Diploma certificates holders should attact a equivalent certificate from State Board of Technical
Education of Andhra Pradesh State.
b) Employment.
The candidate must be currently employed within the State of Andhra Pradesh. Those who are in the employment of State
or Central Government Organisations / Public Sector Undertakings, Local bodies, Universities and other similar Quasi-
Government Organisations, recognized undertakings Private Sector organizations located within the State of Andhra Pradesh
are eligible.
Private sector organizations shall furnish documentary evidence for the recognition, such as APGST Registration, Industrial
licence, Approval / licence from concerned Government or Public Sector Departments.

IV. AGE LIMITS:
No age limits are prescribed for admission to this course.
2. BACKWARD CALASSES:
29% of seats in each course of study are reserved for Backward Class (A, B, C, D, E Groups) and they will be allotted for
groups as:
A : 7 %;
B : 10 %;
C : 1 %;
D : 7 %;
E : 4 %.
The Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Backward Class Candidates seeking admission shall produce Community Certificate
in the prescribed form, not bolow the rank of MRO, appended to the application, in support of the social status claim. If the
community certificate is not furnished in the prescribed form, it shall not be accepted.
Notwithstanding anything contained in these rules and may other orders of this University and Governement, the genuineness
of Social Status claim of the various candidates seeking admission under Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Backward
Class category shall be verified by the Directror of Social Welfare, Director of Tribal Welfare, Director of Backward Classes
respectively whose decision in this regard shall be final.
If no suitable candidates are available in any of the reservation groups, then the unutilized seats shall be added to the general
pool.

Age of candidate will be considered at the time of admission for resolving the tie, the older candidate being given
preference. There shall be separate ranking for each branch.
III) OC/BC candidates are eligible if he/she secure 25% of marks in the entrance examination. No minimum marks in the
entrance examination for SC/ST candidates. The cut off marks may be increated or decreated depending on the no. of
candidates.
VII. GENERAL:
Notwithstanding anything contained in these rules, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad may on their own
motion or on the application of any person and after due proper enquiry and after giving the person concerned an opportunity
to explain, order the withholding of the publication of the name of a candidate who has been provisionally selected, cancel
the admission if already made, or debar any candidate from applying for admission to the B.Tech. Correspondence-cum-
contact course permanently or for a specified period, if in the opinion of the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, such
candidate has furnished incorrect particulars or suppressed relevant information in the application or in the documents
attached thereto or in the statements made to the University or has adopted any other fraudulent means.
Every care will be taken in avoid errors in the evaluation, checking, scrutiny, tabulation and ranking. Hence, request for re-
totalling or personal identification of scripts will not be entertained.
Photographs enclosed must be recent ones and should have been taken after 1-1-2010
IX. FEE:
The following fee are payable:
i) Entrance Examination Fee : Rs.500/-
The entrance Examination fee of Rs.500/- must be paid through crossed Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Registrar,
JNT University Hyderabad payable at Hyderabad on any Natinalised bank. Application forms not accompanying the
Demand draft will be summarily rejected.
X. The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad will have the power to amend or alter these rules from time to time
without any notice.

ARMED PERSONNEL, B.S.F. AND C.R.P.F.(CAP)
The Certificate should be signed either by (1) The Secretary, soldiers and Airmen’s Board, Hyderabad in the case of
Ex-Servicemen or by (2) The Officer Commanding the Unit/Commandant in the case of Children of Armed Personnel,
B.S.F. and C.R.P.F.

Note:
1. Reservation shall be available only to the Children of Ex-Servicemen Armed Personnel, B.S.F. & C.R.P.F. who
are residing for a minimum period of five years in Andhra Pradesh. Copies of residence certificate signed by
M.R.O. from where the candidates claim the residence of his parents a certificate from Zilla Sainik Welfare
Officer as to the eligibility, specifying category must be enclosed.
2. Candidates who do not come under any of the above categories (i) and (iv) will not be eligible for consideration
under the reserved category.

1. Question paper consists of 200 Multiple choice type questions with distribution as indicated above.
2. Each question carries one mark.
3. Cadidates will not be admitted into the Entrance Test hall once the examination commences i.e. after 10.00 A.M.
and will not be allowed to leave before 12.30 P.M.
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Candidates will not be admitted after the commencement of the Test i.e. after 10.00 A.M. and not
allowed to leave before the last 30 minutes of the Examination.
2. The Hall Ticket shall be produced at the time of examination, failing which the candidate will not be
allowed to appear for the examination.
3. Use HB pencil only to darken the circles. Darken the appropriate circles of 1,2,3 or 4 in the OMR
sheet corresponding to correct answer to the concerned question number in the sheet.
4. THE HALL TICKET SHALL BE PRESERVED TILL THE TIME OF ADMISSION, without which
the candidate is not eligible for admission.
5. Mathematical tables, Calculators, Mobiles and other electronic gadgets will not be allowed for
examination.
6. No travelling expenses will be paid for journey undertaken for appearing for the Entrance
Examination.
7. Adoption of any kind of unfair means at the time of examination or taking part in any act of
impersonation will render the applicant liable for cancellation of his/her script and forfeiture of his/
her claim for appearing for the examination. Decision of the Chief Superintendent of the
Examination Centre shall be final in all these matters.
8. Issue of Hall Ticket and appearance at the Examination does not automatically entitle a candidate
