“St. Francis Xavier, a welcoming faith community lovingly sharing the gifts of God.”

6TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

FEBRUARY 13TH 2011
PRAYERS FOR THE DECEASED: We pray for our loved ones who have died recently.
PRAYERS FOR THE SICK AND SHUT-IN: “Let us raise up in prayer those who seek God’s
healing love, those at the hospital, hospice and at home especially Cecil Lewis, Marguerite
McIntyre and Rev. Nil Guillmette. May your struggle be consoled by Christ’s love“.

PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY:

•PRAYER MINISTRY : The members of this group are looking to extend their ministry
by welcoming an artistic person to help create a unique and suitable card to go with their
shawls. If you are inclined to share a talent by crafting a greeting card for
fo r them please call
Nancy Smith @ 433-
433 - 3183.
•NEW PARISHIONERS: We always welcome new people to our parish. Your presence amongst us
affords us the richness of your talents and gifts to share with others. And so, please register with
the parish and let us know of your concerns, interests and past experience. Registration forms are
available at the office or after any celebration.
•RESURRECTION CHOIR: A word of gratitude to all of our parishioners who
volunteer their time and musical talent in providing for every funeral
liturgy here at St. Francis. Your commitment is appreciated and needs to
be recognized. I will be hosting you all for lunch this Tuesday. Looking
forward to your being with us – and again on behalf of the entire parish –
our thanks.
•MINISTRY REGISTRATION FORMS: We are very blessed to have so many to share in such a
variety of ministries here at St. Francis. It is time to review our screening program as mandated
by our Diocese. If you have not filled in a form, please pick one up in the sacristy or parish office.
A volunteer is needed to review our files on Parish Ministries. It should take but a few hours. If
you would be willing to assist with this project please inform the office.
HOSPITALITY MINISTERS: Your warm and receptive presence to people is primary to your
role at Mass. One of the tasks of your ministry is the presentation of the gifts at the
Offertory. However, presenting the gifts of bread and wine on behalf of the community and
the gifts gathered at the collection are necessary to facilitate the Liturgy. To keep a nice
flow to the Mass, we encourage you to focus on the timing of presenting the gifts and
perhaps leaving the tidying up until after the procession. We are, on occasion, waiting
unnecessarily for your presentation.
