First of all, let me define the subject matter in the

Police: This is a law enforcement agency that is

mandated to maintain peace and order in the society.

Thief: A thief is a person or group of persons that are

found in position of another person’s belongings or trying

to do away or snatch another person’s belonging with out

the owner’s consent.

The idea of police arresting people who were caught

beating a thief is right because you cannot fight crime by

committing a crime. An individual has the right to are t

another citizen who has committed an indictable offences,

possibly bring the perform to the police or invite the

police, but whilst the person is detained, he/she is no

longer a treat to you or any others person. You can

saggault the person hence it is any offence. You cannot

wound or cause any bodily harm or injury.

 This is why we must be guided by laws. We

shouldn’t fight crime by committing crime. However, the

police in the cause of their investigation has every right to

adopt any disciplinary measure in order to extract

information that will facilitate the prosecution of the

cucprit but if the public is allowed to take laws, may end

up beating the thief to death and nobody will give further

information that will lead to the arrest of the accomplices.

The video has gone viral and has evoked mixed

reactions. Any persons on that facebook group page are

rejoicing on the suspect’s capture and his punishment at

the hands of the civilians while few. Others commented

that vigiloute justices is illegal. Some still believe that the

beating was not enough.
