My name is Corey Andry. I recently received word about the opening on your ministry staff for a
youth minister. Your children’s and family minister, Christ Tanner made me aware of the opening. God’s
call on my life to lead such a ministry has been clear for several years now. My background in the Church
as well as my education at Cincinnati Christian University have extensively prepared me for such a
ministry.

My education at CCU has worked simultaneously with my ministry experiences to give me a

fully intellectual and practical education in ministry. Professors such as Bill Baumgardner and Nick
Tomeo have taken personal interests in developing my practical ministry skills such as organization,
planning, recruiting volunteers, and building meaningful relationships. Meanwhile, professors such as
Jamie Smith and Jon Weatherly have led me in intellectual and theological development. Through them I
gained a deeper understanding of God’s relationship with us, the condition of heart, sin, and other major
biblical issues. Professor Larry Travis has been very involved in my personal development as well as my
development as a communicator. I spent most of time at CCU in ministry positions where I constantly put
my education into practice. My successes and failures in ministry pushed me to further understand my
classroom experiences.

Church Background

I grew up in a Christian family and was baptized in Marengo Christian Church in 1994.
My parents were youth sponsors from the time I was a baby, so I had the opportunity to get an up
close view of youth ministry from a very early age. Throughout junior high and high school, I
was an active member and leader in my youth group. I have taught in just about any church
setting imaginable. I have also been afforded the opportunity to teach and preach cross culturally
on mission trips with my church. I have nearly two years of vocational youth ministry under my
belt and cannot wait to build on that experience.
