ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

Person is not a perfect in all the contexts of his life. He has a limited mind and mind thinking approaches. lt is the guidance from the Almighty Allah that shows the mall light in the darkness and the person finds his way in this light Without this helping light, person is nothing but a helpless creation.

The teaching of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) were also the continuous source of guidance for me especially his order of getting knowledge and fulfilling once duty honestly was key motivation force for me.

With prayers of my Parents and support of my Teachers it became possible to formulate this report. I pay high regards to them.

I am also thankful to all of my friends and class fellows who helped me and provided support for completing this hard task.

Executive Summary

JGC-Descon, Lahore (JDL) is an engineering firm of approximately 450 employees. It deals with multi-discipline engineering of industrial projects, including oil and gas plants and refineries. urea plants, cement plants, industrial power plants and others. JDL's goaJis to become a best EPC company in the local market, while working for itself and for its parent companies, JGC and

DESCQN

After a brief introduction of company, the remaining chapters discuss in detail the management practices in JDL & the introduction of all the departments and especially Human resource department (HRD) and piping department (the largest department in the JGC-Descon) as I am working in this department Services and expertise are also described in detail. Then management practices are explained according to different functions and especially according to the learning environment and conditions at JDL. It is clearly reflecting from the report that JDL is an organized company with excellent management systems and control. This quality of this organization can also be seen in management policies, standards and procedures that are well defined and are easily approachable by all employees. The Engineering or technical Activities

have also been discussed in detail.

Importance of each department is vital because the skills that develop time to time are priceless.

These skills create the business opportunities in Gulf region for the company, in spite of the fact that Gulf and local market has no comparison. Besides this company is earning business in gulf and company's turnover was about 25% in year 2006 and 2007, which is a maximum score in the company's 8 years of life. At the end, SWOT analysis has been carried out for management against company's current business plan and future challenges. Based on the analysis,

conclusions & recommendations are devised.

This report has been prepared in accordance with the guidelines issued by the department. It is the result of my first professional experience. The report is practical application of whatever 1 have studied as a business graduate of National University of Modern Languages .In this report, I have covered the introduction of SNGPL. detail of my working and learning in BRO of company, impact of internship on career in future. First twelve days I was rotated in different sections of HRO department id was finally attached with Executive Industrial Relations section .. L worked on different assignments given to me. I feel that this experience would be of great help in future.

I have put all the efforts to summarize my know.ledge and experience in this report, to make it comprehensive and to meet rcaders expectations.

GUIDELINES -INTERNSHIP REPORT

Report Format

The report should have the following format:

• One (1) inch margin on all sides of the paper

• Double line spacing

• typeface in 12 point Times New Roman Style

• Topic Headings 14 point Times New Roman Style

• Page numbers at center bottom of the page

• Appropriate complete citations to acknowledge your research, The reader must be able to check your sources.
