Scheduled for October 8-12, 2012, this exceptional SGS workshop will be held at the
SGS Malaysia Shah Alam branch, 20 minutes from downtown Kuala Lumpur and 45
minutes from the international airport. Daily transportation to and from the hotel and
SGS offices will be provided. Refreshments and lunch are also included in the
workshop which will be held in English.
Dealing specifically with internal tank calibration, this exclusive SGS workshop aims
to streamline tank calibration within the SGS Group and increase benefit among
SGS partners. Sharing the expertise of SGS affiliates successfully working in tank
calibration and tank inspection, within this workshop and beyond, will significantly
affect SGS ability to satisfy customers around the world. Additional workshop
objectives intended to greatly increase efficiency are to streamline SGS tank
calibration methods and consolidate SGS expertise within the Industrial and OGC
business units. Considered an investment for the SGS business unit, this workshop
offers SGS field technicians access to the expert training of experienced Tank
Competency Center instructors in calibration procedures.
Technicians wishing to participate in the SGS Malaysia internal tank
calibration workshop training for calculation using Calisoft must possess abundant
experience in shore tank calibration using traditional methods such as strapping/orlm
and optional EODR. They must be active calibrators calibrating tanks each year,
exhibiting basic reasoning skills and demonstrating sound body and mind.
Those registering for live field exercise trainings should be certified in confined space
training and extensively experienced in shore tank calibration using the traditional
methods previously mentioned. These candidates are also required to be active
calibrators regularly calibrating tanks, to exhibit basic reasoning skills and to be of
sound body and mind. This particular program consists of hands-on training dealing
with field measurement, field documents, field check procedures for the theodolite
(angles and length) and in-office check procedures for the theodolite.
