The learners on the long run and on their own will be able to identify different musical instruments

according to their families and play/use different musical instrument in performing a task.

The learners will appreciate the importance of musical instruments are for future use.

Families of Musical Instruments

 Motivation:
The teacher will show pictures. The pupils will be tasked to combine the words that the

picture projects in order to come up with the desired word “Family”

II. Lesson Development
A. Presentation of Concepts
Students will know and identify the different musical instruments.
Students will be able to play/use different musical instrument in performing a task.
Activities:
1. Before Discussion
a. Morning/ Afternoon Greeting
b. Prayer
c. Kamustahan (How are the pupils)
d. Setting of objectives

2. Discussion
a. The teacher have prepared a slide that will she will use to discuss the musical instrument
families.
b. The slide contains information, pictures and audios of the musical instruments.

3. After Discussion
a. The teacher will ask the pupils if they have any questions or clarifications.

4. Engagement Activity
Name of the Activity: Move with the Music (Dalcroze)
1. The teacher will divide the class into 2 groups.
2. Each group will choose an instrument to use or play.
3. For each group, 5 members will play or use an instrument and the rest will be players of the
game.
4. The players or group 1 will go against the players of group 2.
5. The instrument players or users of group 1 and 2 will play a music for their groups game
players.
6. Before the game starts, they will first set up chairs and form it in a circular way.
7. In the circle, the group’s game players will rotate around the circle while dancing with
appropriate gestures as they move along the music that is being played. However, the kind of
dance and the speed of the rotation will depend on how the music is played by the musical
instrument players either it’s fast or slow.
8. Once the music’s stops the game players must find a chair to sit on. If a game player fails to
find a chair to sit on he or she will be removed and a chair will be removed as well and the
game will continue until one person from either of the game players of group 1 and two will
remain.

9. The remaining game player will be the indication of which group wins the game.

Directions: The teacher will paste pictures of different musical instruments and the pupils will give

the correct names of the instruments at the same time they indicate which family does the musical

instrument it belongs.

V. Purposive Assignment:
To enhance today’s discussion, do a research on other musical instruments that belong to the strings,

woodwinds, brass and percussion family. Write ten musical instruments on each family is possible.
