1. Why do people communicate?

Short answer: Because we exist.

Long answer: Although admittedly the question seems dumb at first glance, this is a very
interesting question. Everything that exists, exists with something else. Being is being with
others You can’t exist by yourself. Think about anything you can think of. Can it exist by itself?
Nothing can happen out of nowhere. Everything that exists has evolved from something else,
and has a long history from the beginning of everything, which brings to the conclusion: We
are one. Yes, all that exists is a part of the only one wholeness. Separation aka ego is a
destructing illusion.

2. What might happen to the world if communication does not exist?

The world would keep spinning without communication.

But us? Our minds are made to know, learn and use language. Because of that, I don’t believe we
are able to comprehend what life without communication would look like. And in fact, if there was
no communication then humans would probably never have even existed in the first place. If
there was no communication there would be no society.

3. Why do miscommunications and misunderstanding happen?

Because people tend to listen only to the words that are being spoken instead of
UNDERSTANDING the words that are being spoken, and people tend to read the surface of
written words rather than to gain a deeper understanding of the meanings behind the words.
If we tend to listen, read or watch with the intention of understanding the intended meaning
than there would be no misunderstanding or miscommunication. We often interupt what other
people say based on our own knowledge.

4. Illustrate the communication process through a diagram.

5. Identify possible communication blocks in ff. situations:

a. A written letter of complaint.
Dissatisfaction, emotional barriers
b. Interaction between a nurse and a patient in pain.
Condition of the patient, distractions
c. Songs with figurative language.
Use of jargons, irrelevance,
6. List various channels through which personnel of your university connect with you. Which
channel(s) do you find most effective? Why?
Social Media, assignments, tasks, video calls, etc.
Social media because it provides accessible online communication which brought information
to the concerned students and individual. It has increased awareness among people about
what is happening with in the university.
7. Through a slogan, state how the knowledge of the communication process aids people in
communicating effectively.
“Good communication is the bridge between confusion and clarity.”

8. What do you think has contributed to the easy access and exchange of information these days
? Why?
Social media gives people a place to find things of their interest, while also being able to
communicate and meet others. Having these platforms has made communication easier than
ever by providing a medium that targets all kinds of demographics of people. Social media can
be great for spreading important information to people at a very fast rate and can rapidly
spread to inform more people. Social media has helped change lives and spread awareness for
all kinds of things by grabbing the attention of millions and getting people to want to make a
difference.
9. In transacting or communicating in a global setting, what vital preparations must be done?
Why?
Transactions and communication in a global setting - more precisely in the globally integrated
and fully interdependent world we have evolved into - the vital preparation without which our
actions become self-destructive - as today - must be building the system of mutual guarantee
in between people.

This means copying Nature’s perfect interconnections, the selfless, altruistic, unconditionally serving
interactions in between natural elements that sustain the crucial balance and homeostasis without
which life, optimal development is impossible.
