Youtube Video Takeaways

After watching this interview from a Boy named Zach, who has dystopia(Distonia:a

brother to Segawa syndrome) we can understand what it’s like to have this disability and

from an outside perspective, given by Zach’s mother Alyssa. Below, you can follow along

with the video as I explain my thoughts on their dialogue.

•Segawa Syndrome is relatively unique; most people are unaware of the disorder so may come as

a shock to a person with her family when diagnosed.

•Zack’s mother Alyssa gave another relationship perspective that someone with a Segawa she

emphasized the whole process related to this condition.

• this disorder is difficult to convey from a personal perspective family and medical even doctors

out of out there couldn’t give the child or family a correct diagnosis for relief

•Alyssa pointed out specifically Segawa is something hard to diagnose this is common when it

comes to the Syndrome because the symptoms are commonly confused with cerebral palsy

because it is marked by tremors and rigidness about 10,000 people in the US alone have been

misdiagnosed because of that

• additionally the next thing Alyssa mentioned was dealing with a long with a lifelong condition

she came to a conclusion that her son may need her assistance for the rest of their lives together

it’s important to note that in a family with someone who has disability the family takes on extra

responsibilities the family is just as affected sometimes even more I think that’s what Alyssa was

trying to say

•Continuing Zack spoke about having Segawa Syndrome it’s common to developmental

problems like anxiety depression and OCD when having this disability Zack spoke about his

overwhelming feeling he gets when his disability gets the way it is school and sports in

additional everyday tasks this pressure in feeling negative feelings he gains on a daily basis is

how anxiety depression etc. develops within this disability

•However like Zack it doesn’t have to hold you back in life and disability can be overlooked

from a personal an outside perspective Zach said he continues to play tennis not letting Segawa

syndrome make him quit and in school his teachers and him work together to develop a new

technique in school like using a laptop instead of writing.

• Alyssa: spoke about how her and her husband gamble the issue of who gave their attorney cigar

was syndrome due to it being a hereditary just order either the parents could’ve carried the gene

however the parents don’t have it and neither does Zack‘s brother

• From a personal perspective I relate to Zack and his brother since his brother is typical. He can

help and assist Zack when need be Zack will turn his Brother down because he doesn’t want to

feel helpless for me. I have a little sister with the room and I want to make her life easier by

doing things for her.

• It's good to remember people with disabilities feel like Zack who doesn't like to be helped all

the time; they are capable of doing the task and or asking for help when needed.

•Zack’s last message is for people who are diagnosed with Segawa syndrome or have additional

disabilities. He says to focus on the things that you can do over the things that you can’t.
