From a constructivist point of view, research is all about “standing on the shoulder of giants”
because research is primarily researcher-oriented; it’s all about the desire of a researcher to know more
about how the world works, depending on his or her experiences and how ultimately he or she can apply
these to the research he or she can generate. Since the world can only be understood through what we can
experience, what we contribute to research (as researchers) would entirely be based not only on what
people have already contributed in the past but also on what we can contribute eventually.

A – Research literature allows a researcher to refer to the reliability of previous researches in
order to support a current research.
B – The electronic research databases of EBSCO and ERIC make it easier for a researcher to
actually locate researches significant to the current research topic he or she is creating. With the use of
keywords, they act as educational search engines that are to direct users to articles that are for educational
and research purposes.
C – Conceptual tags allow a researcher to concentrate his or her research based on significant
words, which are called “tags.” These tags make it easier to locate relevant information based on those
words, especially on the internet where search engines rely heavily on keywords to locate specific data.

Ideally, if I were a researcher I would consider the following research parameters:

Political Ideology: it would be perhaps more interesting and thereby easier for researchers to digest the
political beliefs of people, be they liberal, conservative or moderate. Politics is deeply intertwined with
academics, so this might be an important factor in determining who gets on the research or who doesn’t.
Perception of Happiness: a research might actually be dependent on how happy a person might be; in
such a case, a rubric might be essential to measure how happy a person might be.
Perception of Wealth: some researches often focus on financial status as a parameter, but the way that
people see themselves in terms of being rich or frugal or poor, even among financially “wanting”
individuals, may be crucial.
Religious Affiliation: A person’s belief might be relative, but it could also prove essential when it comes
to matters of politics, happiness and wealth. It could be easier if a researcher focuses on just one religious
group, aka. Pentecostal Christians, so that the research could have a much more concentrated focus.
