● What did you accomplish?

Today I went up to Causey Reservoir to get scenic pictures of the reservoir. I also took
pictures of the man made dam that is made up of dirt and rocks. In my project I want to
show how reservoir water is preserved for long periods of time. I am focusing on the
process of water and how it gets into our home so I focused my energy on the industrial
side of reservior. We could not get up there till later in the day so we were not able to
get all the photos I needed to for my project.

● What do I need to do differently next time to make my images more

successful?

I need to head up earlier in the day because we ran out of daylight quickly. I need to
head up earlier in the day so I can have better lighting to take clear high quality photos. I
also need to get up closer to the lake and take more pictures of the ice and water. I
think an important aspect to a story is the small details and today I focused on the broad
view. I also need to take pictures of the river on our way up so I can better show the
process of the water from the reservoir.

● What else do I need to include in my photographs?

One of my main objectives for my project is to capture moving water with different
camera settings. We have learned in class about different shutter speeds. Slower
speeds blur more and faster shutter speeds help you have clear and crisp photos. I plan
to throw rocks in the lake so I can better take pictures of the moving water. I also need
to include pictures of the river because it is an important aspect to how water gets to
homes.

● What did you accomplish?

Today at the reservoir I threw rocks into the lake to get water to splash up. The moving
water helped me to catch pictures of moving water at slower and faster shutter speeds. I
also accomplished taking pictures of the river. I practiced with different shutter speeds
and I was able to capture a couple photos of the water looking smooth. I also was able
to capture several photos of ice and snow up close. I have a goal to capture a photo
where you are able to see the snowflakes.

● What do I need to do differently next time to make my images more

successful?

I need to take pictures of the river at a different location, because the area I was at I
was not able to get a long view of the river. I also need to take more pictures of the river
with a faster shutter speed because many of my pictures turned out blurry. I also want
to go earlier in the day because I have found that I get the clearest pictures in the
afternoon.

● What else do I need to include in my photographs?

I need to include more lighting and I can achieve that through editing. I also want to
sharpen my images because they make them more clear and crisp. I also need to
include more pictures of the river because I want it to be a main focal point of my
project. I want a variety of photos for each plot point in my photographic story.

● What did you accomplish?

Today I was able to accomplish everything else that was needed for my final project. I
went back up to the Causey reservoir and I was able to get more scenic pictures of the
lake. It was cool because the reservoir had completely frozen over and there were
people playing hockey. It was cool to capture different photos of the lake and capture
action shots of the players. I also took pictures of the river at a different location and I
was able to capture a longer scenic view of the river. It had also snowed more so I was
able to take pictures of snow up close. I also finished my pictures for wasteful water
habits in our lives. I took pictures of my shower head with slow and fast shutter speeds.
I also took pictures of droplets on the mirror, washing hands, and a person drinking
water out of a glass.

● What do I need to do differently next time to make my images more

successful?
For my final photo I wanted to take a picture of a single droplet of water. However, my
camera was struggling to focus on a single water droplet. I was able to capture a couple
decent photos of several water droplets on my window. I think I needed to adjust my
settings more and clear my camera card. My camera started to work slower and I
believe that is why I was unable to capture a clear picture of a single water droplet.

● What else do I need to include in my photographs?

I had brainstormed many ideas to include in my photographs. Unfortunately I was

unable to capture some of the ideas I had. Overall, I did capture my main ideas for my
photography story. I just need to include some edits to my photographs so they can look
more presentable. I think if I was able to go up to the Causey Reservoir again I would
have taken pictures out on the ice because I could have got some more detailed shots.
But overall I feel confident in the photos I captured for my final photography project.
