Notes & Legend

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"To discover the origins of the song 'The Water is Wide', it is necessary to go
back to the 1720s, and look at the old Scottish ballad 'O Waly, Waly'. This song
collection of the best Scotch songs set to Musick'. It has been performed and
recorded by countless artists." (Frank Perkins)
