● A challenge that hospitals are facing is patient

satisfaction from the foods they are receiving.
● In some hospitals, foods that are being served to
patients are not nutritional in sources of protein,
carbohydrates, and fats
● Many of the hospitals have host of fast food options
or high fat meals that both patients and visitors can
indulge in.
FUNDING
● The public health system invested $400,000 to start a plant
based option for the patients of Bellevue hospital in New York
City
● The cost of providing plant based foods would depend heavily
on how it is implemented into the system.
● If implemented properly, it is possible that providing a plant
based option could be less expensive.
