Answer the following questions. Answer as briefly but as comprehensive as

possible. 10 points each.

1. What is the importance of quality for you? Discuss by giving specific

examples.

- The importance of quality for me is like the importance of customer feedback

of any of our goods and services’ because customer feedback shows how
much satisfied was the customer with our products and services and I value
customer satisfaction. So, quality is one of the most important things for me.

2. Discuss the difference between goods and services in the Operations

Management System.

- Operations management involves managing business processes that occur

during the conversion of inputs, which include raw materials and labor, into
outputs in the form of goods and/or services. From an operations perspective,
then, goods and/or services are the creation of value that consumers desire or
expect. In this regard, goods and services are referred to in their traditional
sense.

3. Discuss your personal understanding of how important is Operations

Management to businesses.

- Operations Management is the business function that is responsible for

managing and coordinating the resources needed to produce a company’s
product and services. Without Operations Management organizational inputs

4. Discuss how tactical decisions are to aid strategic decisions.

- Strategic decisions are intended to provide a competitive advantage and try

to change the overall scope and direction of the company. They
are important for organizational health and survival. Tactical decisions can
also help minimize risks. Tactical supply chain decisions are made within the
constraints of the overarching strategic supply chain decisions made by
company management. Tactical planners take the strategic message and
focus on creating real benefits for the company. So, tactical decisions can
help minimize risks and carry out the strategic decision in a better way.
5. How can you liken your daily routine to operations management system?

- I can say that my strategic decision is to graduate which is a long term goal
for me. And planning my day would be my tactical decision which is a specific
day-to-day issue.

6. How does operation management system transform inputs into outputs?

- Organization Management increases product value at each stage. Value

added is the net increase between output product value and input material
value. OM transforms inputs using capital, materials, equipment, facilities,
labor, suppliers, knowledge and time to outputs such as facilitating goods and
services by transformation system such as alteration, transportation, storage
and inspection.

7.       Make a study plan that will make you achieve your goal to become successful
in your future profession.

- Firstly, read everything that needs to be read. Secondly, highlight important

parts or vocabularies to remember the topic. Try to solve problems about
those topics. Lastly, review or glance everything once again. Always
remember to be at the moment both when listening to lesson and studying, so
that nothing can disturb you easily or lose your focus at any time.

8.       Discuss a strategy that you have implemented personally to achieve a

specific goal.

- I implemented a strategy to achieve my goals lately and that strategy is to “do

what is needed to be done TODAY, NOT TOMORROW”. The reason is that if I
delay what I have to do today, it will continue to bother me tomorrow which I
cannot just handle because I know by today that I will be stressed tomorrow. I
realized that I have been doing that for too long and it annoys me. So, I decided
to focus as much as I can and complete tasks I have to as early as possible.

9.       Enumerate specific core competencies you have earned through the years,
how do you achieved them?

- Honesty comes first in the core competencies I earned through years because
being honest just reflects my personality. Being reliable comes second. Hard-
work, knowing my goal and responsibilities follows. I achieved these through
experiences. I made mistakes and I learned from my mistakes.

10.   Why is it important to train your employees in specific tasks?

- It is important to train my employees in specific tasks because only then there
would be distribution of tasks equally which will be of benefit to my business in
order to be able to serve our customers better and achieve long-term goals and
objectives of the business faster.
