INTRODUCTION.

It is often said that in face-to-face and even body-to-body

communications, the words we speak actually account for less than 10%
of the message that we convey, while body language accounts for more
than half of our message. Body language is important, and if your words
say one thing but your body says another, the person you are speaking
to is more likely to believe the message your body is communicating.

What do we mean by “Body Language”?

The medium through which people and animals communicate using

gestures, expressions and posture.
Body language plays a big role in intuition as it gives us messages about the
other person that we can interpret at an intuitive level.

How Does Body Speak?

 Like any spoken language, body language has words, sentences and
punctuation.
 Each gesture is like a single word and one word may have several different
meanings.

and determination.
 Touching the nose or rubbing eyes indicates discomfort.

conversation.

Actions Speak Louder than Words?

‘What often happens in any relationship is that

language itself becomes a mask and a means of
clouding and confusing the relationship. If the
spoken language is stripped away and the only
communication left is body language, the truth
will find some way of poling through. Spoken
language itself is a great obscurer.’

Becoming sensitive to the clues of body language can help us communicate

more effectively.
