Lesson 2 – Playing C-D' on the Keyboard and Guitar


WEEK 12

Bilingual/International Period

(W) Review on Note Reading  (15 minutes)

The students teacher will first review with students names of the five lines and spaces of the G-Clef. 

There will be 5 lines set up on the floor of the Music Room. These lines will serve as the staff.  

The class will then be divided into two groups. The members of the group will then line up and wait for the letter
name that will be given by the teacher. 

The assigned player will then have to stand on one foot on the line or spaces given by the teacher, if it is C', then
they should stand on the 3rd space. 

Team mates are not allowed to teach or coach their teammates. 

The team that gets the correct answer will win the game. 

(W) Review of the Names of the Keys of the Piano Keyboard (10 minutes) 

Individual students will then be called to identify the shaded keys on the board as their Graded Recitation/Oral
in their report card. 

(I) Written Quiz on the Note-Reading and Names of Keys

The students will then take their written quiz on Note-Reading and Names of Keys. 

International Period  - Playing Familiar Melodies

(W) Review of the Names of the 6 strings in the Guitar (15 minutes)

The teacher will ask the students to play the six strings of the guitar and see if it is in tune. 

And then the teacher will review the names of each of the open strings E-A-D-G-B-E.

Then the teacher will tell the students that the moment they press each of those strings against the fretboard,
they change the tune of each of the string.

(I)   Introducing Solfege on a Classical Guitar  (15 minutes) 

The teacher will first introduce how to play the notes B-A-G-C'-D' on the Guitar

And then each student will be asked to play the 5 notes. 


(I) Song Study (10 Minutes)

The class will then study 3 songs and play its melody on the classical guitar.

2. Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
3. Ode to Joy 
Core Tactic - Guided Practice and Use of Technology
As the students are just starting to play  the recorder,  guided practice will continue.  The teacher will still check
on the way individuals hold their recorder, play notes, and produce sound. 

For this week, the students will also experience an integration of using musical instrument and using technology
through the apps, "Recorder Master" which will hopefully challenge the students to make the correct sound in
order to win the game.
