“Just Exceptions And Excuses!

”- Tyron
Woodley Trashes Joe Rogan

Miami Open 2020 to Be Canceled as Novak Djokovic Raises Concerns

Tyron Woodley has had his fair share of criticism from the top brass of UFC
because of his “very little efforts” in title defenses.

Thus, when Israel Adesanya was let off the hook citing a “defensive strategy”,
Woodley made it a point to call out those who ridiculed him for employing
similar strategies in the past.

Post the controversial main event of UFC 248, Ariel Helwani shared an
Instagram post with Adesanya’s quotes, which consisted of comments made
by New Zealand fighter after the match.

“The Chosen One” immediately responded, making Joe Rogan his prime
target. He stated,

“Funny how no one got into Rogan’s earpiece. And let him know he
(Adesanya) broke the record for (the) least amount of strikes thrown in a title
fight. No shi***ng on their Prima Donna. Just excuses and exceptions. How
convenient.”

Yes, in what was meant to be a fight to remember, Israel Adesanya broke the
record for the least strikes thrown in a title match. The record was previously
held by Woodley, who was heavily disgraced by commentators for his fighting
methods.

How deep is the beef between Tyron Woodley and

UFC?
Woodley had faced trouble with the UFC for his duration as the reigning
champion. Dana White, the President of the UFC, had thrashed Woodley
publicly on various occasions for not providing the fans with the kind of fights
they want to see.

The two even had altercations in media events. Woodley has time and again
raised formal complaints directed at Dana and Joe Rogan.

The American fighter believes that the UFC has been unjust to him. The fight
between Adesanya and Romero was similar to Woodley’s bouts with Demian
Maia and Stephen Thompson. Yet the UFC management termed him as
“undeserving” instead of acknowledging for his “smartness” like Adesanya.

However, Woodley has to concentrate on the job at hand and ensure that his
beef with the commentators does not sideline his fighting career. He is
focusing his energy on his next fight with Leon Edwards at UFC London on 21
March.

Cody Garbrandt double fists

More
Former bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt has been forced out of his
upcoming fight against Raphael Assuncao at UFC on ESPN 8 in Columbus,
Ohio.

Garbrandt was hospitalized in New Jersey this week due to kidney issues and
he’s currently booking travel back to his home state of Ohio to see a specialist in
Cleveland. Unfortunately, Garbrandt’s medical condition will keep him from facing
Assuncao in his home state on March 28.

ESPN initially reported the news regarding Garbrandt’s withdrawal from the card.

"I honestly don't know what it is," Garbrandt said on Thursday. "A month ago, I
had cellulitis in my shin. I went to the hospital and got that cleared with
antibiotics. I got back into training, but then last Friday, the lymph nodes in my
groin were inflamed and I didn't feel well. I thought it was just due to rough
training.

"On Saturday, I had flu-like symptoms. The lymph nodes were so inflamed I
couldn't walk. I took an Uber to the hospital and did a bunch of tests on my blood,
kidneys, CAT scan. The doctor sent me home and 20 minutes later I felt even
worse and started pissing blood."

A longtime member of Team Alpha Male, Garbrandt had actually moved his
training camp to New Jersey where he was working with head coach Mark
Henry.

Now he’ll be forced to the sidelines as he seeks to get back into the win column
after suffering three straight knockout losses to T.J. Dillashaw in a pair of fights
as well as his most recent outing against Pedro Munhoz.

Status of UFC on ESPN 8 in Columbus undecided

amidst coronavirus restrictions
UFC on ESPN 8 is slated to take place in Columbus, although there’s still no
official word if the card will move ahead following Governor Mike DeWine
announcing plans on Wednesday to issue an order regarding mass gatherings in
the state due to the spread of the coronavirus.

Both the NBA and MLS have suspended play and the Columbus Blue Jackets,
who play in the same arena where the UFC card is set to take place, announced
plans to hold games without any fans in attendance.

Bernie Profato, the executive director of the Ohio Athletic Commission, told The
Athletic that the UFC is already making back-up plans for UFC on ESPN 8 if they
are not allowed to have fans in attendance.

"I just got off the phone with the UFC an hour ago, and they’re planning on
coming here," Profato said. "But I know for a fact, they did tell me that if they
can’t bring fans, then they’re already looking at a backup facility, a small facility
there in Las Vegas. They’re not going to bring everybody here if they can’t have
fans at the event."

7 WAYS TO MAINTAIN A HEALTHY COLON
0 Comments

Authors: Aislinn Vaughan & Philip Knox

When looking for ways to get and keep a healthy colon, these tips can be helpful. Following these
detoxification suggestions may prolong your life by assisting with the risk-reduction of potentially
preventable illnesses like Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), diverticulosis, and colon cancer. In
addition, they can promote an attrition of the discomforts of bloating, constipation, diarrhea, fatigue,
and gas.
1. FIBER

Fiber-rich food is a great choice for a healthy colon. Eating a good amount (about 25-35 grams daily)
of high-fiber foods like raspberries, bananas, prunes, peas, broccoli, beans, celery, and whole-wheat
pasta is a great start to cleanse the body. Other fiber-rich whole grains include brown rice, whole
wheat and whole-wheat breakfast cereals. Fiber keeps food waste moving along your digestive tract,
which helps your intestines stay squeaky clean and can decrease your risk for diverticular disease.
See Three Ways to Get More Whole Grain in Your Diet.

2. VITAMIN D

The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition says that a steady intake of Vitamin D is advantageous
when trying to prevent colon cancer and maintain a healthy colon. You can get Vitamin D from a
variety of sources including the sun (15-20 minutes of daily exposure is sufficient) and foods like
bread, fatty fish, milk, and cereal. If your foods do not supply enough Vitamin D, taking a
supplement may be warranted. Vitamin D may also help prevent osteoporosis.

3. DON'T HOLD IT

If you feel a bowel movement coming, head for the bathroom and let it go. If you try to hold it in,
built-up fecal matter can release toxins into your body, which has the potential to cause diverticulosis
and IBS. Regular bowel movements is one of the ways your colon keeps itself clean and healthy.

4. WATER

Inadequate hydration can lead to a buildup of toxins in the body. As those toxins accumulate, the risk
for constipation, bloating, gas, IBS, and fatigue increases. If you're trying to keep your colon healthy,
try to drink eight eight-ounce glasses of water in a day to cleanse your body.

5. EXERCISE

When you're trying to keep your colon healthy, exercise is a huge part of the equation. By increasing
blood flow and circulation through exercise, your colon (and entire gastrointestinal system) gets
more oxygen. This may help ward off colon cancer and other diseases. Your fitness routine doesn't
need to be extreme. Stretching, doing yoga or walking for 10-15 minutes a day is sufficient to help
keep your colon healthy.

6. COLONOSCOPIES

Although a colonoscopy is by no means a fun experience, it's essential in the prevention and early
detection of colon cancer. For individuals over age 50, a colonoscopy is a necessary step in
maintaining colon health. Also, ask your doctor about a colonoscopy if you are experiencing on-
going diarrhea or constipation, as these can be signs of colon and intestinal problems. A colonoscopy
can aid in proper diagnosis of your condition.
7. CLEANSING YOUR COLON

There are also natural ways to keep your colon clean. Pay a visit to your local alternative medicine
center to learn about the colon-cleansing treatments they have to offer.

Colon flushes are a popular procedure, and are believed to wash out toxins and waste material that
have become trapped in your colon. If you suffer from constipation, a colon flush can be the best way
to regain regular bowel movements and restore your colon's health. With a variety of special herb
and mineral infusions available, colon flushes can be tailored to suit your unique needs. Although
self-administered colon cleansing kits are available, you should seek advice from a health
professional before attempting your first treatment.

A healthy diet can help protect against colon disorders
Just as diet can have a positive or negative impact on heart, brain and bone health,
your colon's overall health can be affected by what you eat.

The colon is a crucial part of the digestive system, and many different conditions can
cause it to work improperly. Some of these include inflammatory bowel diseases, such
as ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease; diverticular disease; irritable bowel syndrome;
and colorectal cancer.

Treatment for these conditions includes diet and lifestyle modifications, medications
and/or surgery.

Colorectal cancer is one of the most serious colon diseases. It's the third most common
cancer and the third deadliest cancer in the U.S. Risk factors for colon cancer include
age (risk increases over age 50); race (blacks have the highest rates of colorectal
cancer in the U.S.); family history; previous polyps; inflammatory bowel disease;
smoking; and heavy alcohol use.
"There is also a strong correlation between obesity and having a higher risk of getting
cancer in the colon," says Joshua Melson, MD, MPH, a gastroenterologist who
specializes in colorectal cancer at Rush University Medical Center.

A weighty connection
According to the National Cancer Institute, the association between obesity and
increased colon cancer risk may be due to multiple factors, including increased levels of
insulin in the blood, a condition that may occur more often in obese individuals.
Increases in insulin and associated conditions such as insulin resistance may promote
the development of certain tumors, including those in the colon.

The American Cancer Society reports that the links between diet, weight, exercise and
colorectal cancer risk are some of the strongest for any type of cancer. In fact, an
estimated 50 to 75 percent of colorectal cancer can be prevented through lifestyle
changes like healthy eating, according to the Colon Cancer Foundation.

"Fewer than 10 percent of colon cancers are hereditary, which means a lot of it is
lifestyle," says Heather Rasmussen, PhD, a registered dietitian at Rush. "Therefore,
good nutrition is an important aspect of good colon health."

Diet dos and don'ts

Diets high in vegetables, fruits and whole grains and low in red and processed meats
have been associated with a decreased risk of colon cancer, according to the ACS. To
help promote good colon health, follow these five diet recommendations:

1. Limit red meat consumption and steer clear of processed

meats.
According to the ACS, the risk of colon cancer increases by 15 to 20 percent if you
consume 100 grams of red meat (the equivalent of a small hamburger) or 50 grams
(equivalent of one hot dog) of processed meats, like sausage, bacon or hotdogs, per
day.

"You can still have a little bit of red meat — about two four-ounce servings of red meat
per week," says Rasmussen. "However, it is best to limit processed meats to a special
treat now and then because they have other components, such as preservatives, that
may cause cancer."
Fewer than 10 percent of colon cancers
are hereditary, which means a lot of it is
lifestyle. Therefore, good nutrition is an
important aspect of good colon health.
2. Hold the sugar.
Studies have found that people with ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease often have
diets high in sugar and low in fiber.

While sugar has not been directly associated with the progression of colon cancer,
foods high in sugar are often high in calories and can lead to weight gain and obesity.

3. Up your fiber intake.

Eating a high-fiber diet is good for overall intestinal and colon health.

"On average, Americans eat about 13 grams of fiber a day, but we're supposed to have
25 to 35 grams," says Rasmussen.

The best way to add fiber into your diet is through fiber-rich fruits and vegetables, such
as raspberries, pears, apples, bananas, oranges, cooked artichoke, peas, broccoli and
corn. Whole grains and legumes are also good sources of fiber.

Fiber aids colon health by helping to keep you regular and prevent constipation. This
may then lower your risk of developing hemorrhoids and small pouches in your colon
that can lead to diverticular disease.

4. Drink your milk.

Recent studies have found that calcium and vitamin D may be associated with a
decreased risk of colorectal cancer. However, the ACS does not recommend that men
increase their calcium intake above the recommended amounts because there is a
potential increased risk of prostate cancer associated with high calcium intake
(exceeding 2,000 milligrams a day).

Instead, both men and women should make sure to get their recommended daily dose
of calcium: depending on age, that is 1,000 milligrams to 1,300 milligrams a day (three
to four eight-ounce glasses of low-fat or fat-free milk).
Other dietary sources of calcium include dark leafy greens, such as spinach, kale and
collard greens.

5. Choose grains wisely.

Whole grains are foods that contain all their essential parts and naturally occurring
nutrients. The Dietary Guidelines for Americans recommend that all adults eat at least
half of their daily grains as whole grains, about three to five servings.

Some readily available whole grains include barley, quinoa, whole wheat flour, wild and
brown rice and oatmeal. These foods contain more colon-friendly vitamins, minerals,
fiber, essential fatty acids, antioxidants and phytochemicals (natural compounds in
plants that have a beneficial effect on the body) than their refined grain counterparts,
such as white flour and white rice.

Make screening a priority

While eating right can help keep your colon happy, the most powerful way to prevent
colon cancer is through screening. A colonoscopy is a structural examination of the
colon that allows physicians to both screen for and prevent colorectal cancer.

"Colonoscopy reduces the risk of developing colon cancer because we can find
precancerous polyps during the test and remove them," says Melson. "This test is
unique to most screening tests because we can actually look for precancerous growths
and remove them during the procedure, which ultimately reduces a person’s risk of
developing colon cancer."

If detected early, up to 95 percent of colorectal cancers are curable, according to the

Colon Cancer Foundation. "Colon cancer is a largely treatable condition," says Melson.
"For colorectal cancer, we have a test, it is not complicated and it is extremely effective
in preventing it and catching it early.”

6 Ways to Keep Your Colon Healthy and

Cancer-Free
Need Care
Make an Appointment Today.
Each year, more than 4,000 people are diagnosed with colorectal cancer in
North Carolina. Colon cancer begins in the last part of the digestive track, also
known as the colon. Rectal cancer begins in the rectum, the lower end of the
large intestine. Together, they are referred to as colorectal cancers.
In most cases, small polyps form that become cancerous over time.
These polyps have few, if any, symptoms. Therefore, doctors recommend
screening tests to help prevent colon cancer. A colonoscopy can identify any
polyps which doctors can remove before they become cancerous.
People who are at average risk should have their first colonoscopy at age 50.
However, it's important to know your risk factor. African-Americans have the
highest colorectal cancer rate of all racial groups in the United States. If you
have a family history of colon cancer or you have been diagnosed with
inflammatory bowel disease you are also at higher risk. Talk to your doctor
about when you should begin colon cancer screenings.
Here are six ways to keep your colon healthy and cancer-free:

1. Regular testing. The most common test for colon cancer is

a colonoscopy. This is when the entire colon is viewed using a flexible camera
while the patient is under anesthesia. Any polyps that are found can be
immediately and safely removed. Other tests include a sigmoidoscopy, where
just the lower colon is examined, and fecal occult blood test (FOBT), which is
a lab test to check stool samples for hidden (occult) blood. If FOBT shows
blood in the stool, then a colonoscopy is needed to examine the colon.
2. Eat a colon-healthy diet. Load up on fruits, vegetables and whole grain
fiber. Fruits and veggies are high in antioxidants, while fiber promotes regular
bowel movements.
3. Stop eating red meats and processed foods. Skip the steak and
sausage. Red meats and processed meats are high in saturated fat and have
been linked to colon cancer. Eat lean proteins such as beans, poultry and fish.
4. Body Mass Index is important. People who are obese are at a higher
risk of colorectal cancer.
5. Exercise. Physically active people have a 24 percent lower risk of colon
cancer than those who are not.
6. Limit alcohol and stop smoking. Alcohol is a known risk factor for
colon cancer. Drinking increases the workload on the liver, which causes
more toxins to pass through the colon. Smoking is a well-known cause of lung
cancer, but is also linked to other cancers, including colon cancer.
According to National Cancer Institute data, the relative five-year survival rate
for stage I colon cancer is 92 percent, compared to an 11 percent survival rate
for stage IV, which clearly indicates that early screening, diagnosis and
treatment are the key.

Top‘BORNFIGHTER’ CHISORA: “THIS WILL

BE THE HARDEST FIGHT I’VE EVER HAD”
PhilBoxing.com
Fri, 13 Mar 2020

Derek Chisora says his colossal Heavyweight clash with Ukraine’s pound-for-pound star
Oleksandr Usyk at The O2 in London on Saturday May 23, shown live on Sky Sports Box
Office in the UK and DAZN in the US, will be the hardest fight that he’s ever had.

‘WAR’ Chisora (32-9, 23 KOs) scored a devastating second round knockout over Poland’s
Artur Szpilka at The O2 in July 2019, a year on from his incredible eighth round KO win
against Carlos Takam at the same venue, before blitzing fellow Brit David Price in four
rounds last October.

The Finchley favourite has breathed new life into his his career over the past 18 months and
is now aiming to move himself back into World Title contention by claiming what would be a
sensational upset win over the unbeaten Ukrainian star.

“It’s going to be leather,” said Chisora. “I’m already taking dancing lessons. The guy is
going to be on fire man. He’s going to be dancing bro. He’s going to be dancing. Where can
you get guys who can be sparring like him? Nowhere. The guy is a dancer. He’s going to
dance.

“It’s going to be hard, I’m not going to lie to you. I think this fight will be the hardest fight
I’ve ever had. Not because the guy hasn’t got power, but because of the accuracy of his
punches and the way he chucks them. When he chucks them he’s unbelievable.

“I’m going to have to eat leather, I’m not going to lie to you. I’m going to eat leather. I’m
probably going to take five before I get one in there, but it is what it is. I eat that sh*t for
breakfast. The hunger remains and the dedication is the same.”

2012 Olympic Gold medallist Usyk (17-0, 13 KOs) cemented his place as one of the finest
fighters on the planet with a phenomenal run of victories in his opponents’ backyard that
saw him crowned the Undisputed Cruiserweight Champion of the World, and Chisora
confesses to being an admirer of his next opponent.

“We can’t sell this fight by insulting the guy. It’s a fight for boxing fans. If I say ‘f*ck you’ to
him he’s going to think I said, ‘good morning’. He doesn’t understand any English. He’s a
good guy. There’s nothing wrong about this guy.

“He’s a funny guy, he loves life, he likes everything. He’s a boy’s boy – he’s
cool. I can’t really say anything bad about this man. He’s done so much in four
years. He’s done great for himself. He’s amazing, I’m a big fan of his.”

World middleweight champion Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez 53-1-2 (36) appears on track to face Gennady
‘Triple G’ Golovkin 40-1-1 (35) in September.

The 29-year-old Mexican superstar is expected to face WBO super middleweight champion Billy Joe
Saunders 29-0 (14) in Las Vegas on May 2 before completing his trilogy with Golovkin.

Alvarez scored a disputed split draw against the Kazakh bomber at the T-Mobile Arena in Las
Vegas, Nevada in September 2017 before outpointing him over 12 rounds by majority decision at the
same venue a year later.

Journalist Mike Coppinger reported on The Athletic’s Pug and Copp podcast that broadcaster DAZN
is pushing for the fight.

“DAZN wants a commitment from Canelo Alvarez to fight Gennady Golovkin in September,”
Coppinger said.

“And Canelo is okay with that, he’s totally okay with fighting Gennady Golovkin, but he wants some
considerations in return.

“I’ve heard that DAZN – and John Skipper in particular – have come to Canelo and said, ‘Alright,
fight Saunders in May, fight GGG in September, then we’d like to do Ryota Murata in December.’

“And then possibly I heard even maybe Dubai or somewhere like that next year.

“With this global app now launched they wanna take him on the road and make him into a real global
attraction to pull in some subscribers around the world.

“And I think Canelo wants that too.”

The fight could take place at a stadium in Texas.

“We need this Gennady Golovkin fight already, the guy’s gonna be 38 this year. The time is now for
September,” Coppinger continued.

“I do think it’s gonna happen, I’m confident in fact.

“And I’ve heard that Cowboys Stadium is the likely destination.”

Golovkin fought twice last year, an easy fourth-round knockout of Canadian Steve Rolls in June and
a tougher than expected decision over Sergiy Derevyanchenko in October.

BOXING NEWS
Ex-champ Takayama to return to pro ranks
FacebookTwitterReddit
By Joe Koizumi

Photo: Boxing BeatSurprisingly, former four-organization 105-pound

champion of the Katsunari Takayama (31-8-1NC) of Japan, 36, announced on Tuesday a return
to professional again although he once retired from the paid ranks in 2017 in order to participate
in the Tokyo Olympic Games but failed to win in the first contest of the tournaments to decide
the Japanese Olympian and then announced to hang up gloves for good last August.

Ex-champ of the WBC, WBA, IBF and WBO (in this order of his title acquisitions), the
5’2” veteran’s dream is big enough to aim at his second-class coronation at the 108-
pound category against either WBA titleholder Hiroto Kyoguchi or WBC champ Kenshiro
Teraji. “I have unfinished business as a professional.”

He is now a student in Nagoya Industrial University—that he entered at the age of 33–to

hope to be a school teacher in the future. His ambition is insatiable.

Chavez, Arce thrill fans in spirited exhibition

FacebookTwitterReddit
Photos: Zanfer

A spectacular and historic night took place in the Centro de Usos Múltiples in
Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico on Saturday night, where Mexican ring legends
Julio Cesar Chavez, 57, and Jorge “Travieso” Arce, 40, donned the gloves
and put on a spirited show.

The “Duel of Legends” attracted 10,000 people who exploded with excitement
to see their idols. It was the second time the two went at it for charity, the first
being last November in Tijuana. Although an exhibition bout with headgear,
blows were exchanged and the fighters demonstrated their best moves.
Afterward, both received belts.

Celebrities on hand included Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, Miguel “Alacran”

Berchelt, Ana Gabriela Guevara, Mauricio Sulaiman, Yamileth Mercado, and
the famous Box Azteca announcing team that includes Marco Antonio
Barrera.

In featured official action, WBC FECARBOX featherweight titleholder Bryan

“Latino” Acosta retained his belt by unanimous decision over Jesus “Jibarito”
Ortega and super bantamweights Eduardo “Koreano” Ramirez and Azael
“Cristalito” Romero fought to a majority draw.

But this night was mainly about the “Duelo de Leyendas” and Chavez and
Arce didn’t disappoint.
