The together mode in Microsoft teams has brought in a lot on to the plate to help the
students catch verbal and non-verbal clues from their teachers and batch-mates and bring
about a holistic learning experience for them. The introduction of chairs and whiteboards
with sticky notes features adds cheery to the cake not only giving the atmosphere for the
children but also a better understanding for them. The twelve to fifteen age group students
are benefiting a lot by the steps taken by Microsoft Teams to help them in this front. But
there is an area where Microsoft Team can work upon to enhance the experience of the user
further.
The children learn a lot from their friend as well and this virtual setting has made it difficult
for them in that aspect. Microsoft has tried to overcome this problem with the facility of
breakout rooms for group discussion activities but there can be more steps that can be taken
to improve the user experience and facilitate this learning process making it efficient and
seamless. Also this age group prefers the reflector learning technique where they learn by
example and this is a major area that can be worked upon as there is change in this and
students are forced towards theoretic learning style. Thus for the children preferring
reflector learning style it has become a tuff journey in this virtual setting. Microsoft can take
steps towards addressing this problem as the majority students will be benefited with this
thus Microsoft can be a game changer in this implementation of the preferred learning style
for the children giving them a personalized experience and improved learning.
GOAL
The goal where we would like to reach on is providing a personalised learning experience for to
the children gauging on their preferred learning style and providing an interface between the
teacher and students for a better learning experience and bridging the gap between the students
and school. With a better interface the students will be more comfortable in accessing the
Microsoft Team application and thus getting a near perfect learning structure making the
Microsoft Team the preferred platform for virtual classes. This will also facilitate the peer to peer
network and learning among the students helping the students get easy access to concepts they
have doubts in to clear.
SUCCESS METRIC
The success metric for the features mentioned by us are the ease of access of the interface of
Microsoft Team for the students making it user friendly and also easily customizable according
to the students need and requirements. Another success metric is the personalized learning
experience for the children bridging the gap between the students and teachers and proving a
near classroom experience in the virtual mode. However, implementing these features should
make the user interface complex and it shouldn’t be like filling our plate with too many eggs.
We would like to provide the features that make user experience more fulfilling. We also don’t
want to hamper with the student security features already present in the Microsoft Teams as we
believe that they are necessary for an effective delivery system of the lessons by the teacher to
the students.
