Writing Classes
Wednesdays, Sept. 3 – Dec. 10

Beginners Class 9:45-10:45 Ages 6 – 9
Each child will work at his/her individual level
and share their writing with the class every
week. This sharing of ideas and creativity is
highly motivating and personally satisfying.
Advanced Class 11:00-12:00 Ages 9-14
We will continue to address the Standards for
Writing, Grades 4-8 and focus on expository
compositions as we prepare for PSAT and other
nationally formed writing evaluations. Writing is
shared within the group on a weekly basis and
affirmations and critiques are thoughtfully given.

Indiana University, an M.S. from Anderson
University and is a M.S.D. Lawrence Township
retired teacher.

Around the World in 10
Weeks

The world is an exciting place, filled with
interesting people and places. Your child will
discover how children live all over the globe as
we explore the cultures of ten diverse countries

Math Pentathlon Games
Wednesdays, 12:00-1:30 Sept. 3 – Dec. 10
From 12:00-12:30, students may play math
games and eat lunch in the craft room.
Beginning at 12:30, Lynette Quinn will be
teaching Math Pentathlon Division III games,
for ages 9-12. On weeks that Lynette is not
there, students and parents may still play math
games.

World: Ancient Egypt

TPRS Spanish Classes
Wednesdays, Sept. 3 – Nov. 19
Cost: $72 plus materials (workbook/novella)
Beginners Class 12:30-1:30 Ages 5 and up
TPRS (Total Physical Response Storytelling):
Learn Spanish with this interactive, fun
storytelling method. Kids will be moving
around, speaking and telling stories in Spanish
right from the beginning.
Advanced Class 1:45-2:45 Ages 7 and up
The advanced class is for those who already
have some basic knowledge of Spanish
(alphabet, colors, numbers, family). There is
more reading and writing in Spanish in this
class, as well as the storytelling fun.

at Universidad del Belgrano - Buenos Aires,
Argentina and has taught many TPRS Spanish
classes.

Poetry Class
Wednesdays, 9:45-10:45 Sept 10 - Nov. 12
Cost: $65.00 (10 weeks) Ages 8-13
Students will learn about many different types of
poetry, such as lyric, haiku, sonnet, villanelle,
limerick, and ballads. We will also acquaint
ourselves with many famous poets. During the
course of this class, students will compose their
own poetry and will complete their own poetry
portfolio.

Creative Dramatics
Wednesdays, Sept. 3- Nov. 19
American Tales 1:45-2:45
Cost: $48 for 12 weeks Ages 5 – 8
Students will use a weekly story theme utilizing
classic American folktales, myths and stories to
explore beginning acting and theatre concepts.
Acting/Drama Class 3:00-4:30
Cost: $60 for 12 weeks Ages 8 – 13
Working together students will create a play
they choose or develop from literature based
materials, with a performance at the end of the
session. We will continue to build on basic
theatre and acting skills, utilizing basic theatre
games, exercises and rehearsal techniques in
this fun and active class.

Recorder Ensemble
Thursdays, 9:45-10:45 Sept 11 – Dec.11

Open to children who have no prior musical
experience and those who may already know
how to read music. Basic note reading and
counting will be taught as part of this class.
Class includes a certificate of completion and a
personalized musical assessment at the end of
session. Students will need an approved
recorder (Baroque fingering), and Penny
Gardner's The New Nine-Note Recorder
Method ($10).

Teen Speech/Debate Club
Thursdays, 5:15-6:45 Sept. 4 – Nov. 20
Cost: $75 for 12 weeks Ages 13-18

Students will practice and develop basic
speech writing techniques and presentation
skills by preparing a variety of basic speeches
and presenting them to others. Students will be
required to do preparation work at home and
class will require weekly homework.

Polar Express

For an evening of family fun take a trip to the
North Pole. Hear The Polar Express read
aloud, play games, and create crafts. If you
want to, wear your PJs! Everyone goes home
