A mode shape is the deformation that the component would show when vibrating at the
natural frequency.
The terms mode shape or natural vibration shape are used in structural dynamics. A mode shape describes the deformation
that the component would show when vibrating at the natural frequency. However, the vibration and deformation do not occur
until there is an excitation. Depending on this excitation, the result is the total vibration of a structural component, which is
basically comprised of the individual vibration shapes.
Thus, natural frequencies and mode shapes indicate how the structure behaves under a dynamic load. The amplitudes of
mode shapes are not suitable for a technical quantitative evaluation of the structural component (they are properly scaled in
the solution). Rather, the mode shape characteristic is suitable for the qualitative assessment of the dynamics of the structural
component.

Which filter settings should be selected within the material library for concrete if you want to perform
a design in RF-CONCRETE according to the Swedish National Annex? In RFEM, there is no Swedish
standard group available for selection.
I have just noticed that the STEEL EC3 add -on module also calculates with γM0 = 1.0 when designing
a tension member, although it should actually be γM2 = 1.25. How can I perform the design correctly?
I have a question about the results of the serviceability limit state design: How is the increase of the
dead load by the factor 1.8 and the imposed load by 1.48 explained in the result combinations for the
SLS design?
How can I display the vertical deformation of a column in state II? I cannot find this setting in the
serviceability limit state designs.

What is the best way to consider steel fiber reinforced concrete with the structural analysis program
RFEM?
Using the RF-STEEL EC3 add-on module, I assess the cross-section created in the SHAPE-THIN
program, but the program displays the error message "ER006 Invalid type of c/t-part of the cross-
section for a general cross-section". What can I do?
For a buckling safety design, FE-BUCKLING determines a governing shear stress of τ = 7.45 kN/cm²,
while RF-/STEEL results in a maximum shear stress of τ = 8.20 kN/cm². Where does this difference
come from?
