1. Two processor P0903AN labels (item 2) are to be printed with H-code, style, revision, S/N, barcode,
etc. The 2” x 2” portion of one label is to be affixed to the top of the processor unit as illustrated in the
placement diagram on sheet 22 of this document. The second label is to be placed on the processor’s shipping
container.
2. a. One blank, 2” x 2” P0903AN label (item 2) is to be affixed to the top of the processor unit, just above
the “data” label, as illustrated in the placement diagram on sheet 22. of this document.
2. b. The third P0903AN label shall be printed out to read: “Use Restore Media with Compatibility Code: R3”. This
label shall be affixed to the front of the machine. See logo and label placements on sheet 22.
3. FOXBORO logo, label P0971QF (item 1) on the processor’s front as illustrated on sheet 21.
4. Include a copy of B0700FS as indicated by the model with the processor. Set the processor’s parameters
according to B0700FS.
5. Load a copy of the image of the operating system on to the hard drive.
6. The Country Of Origin (COO) must be displayed in the following manner:
a. The text "The Country Of Origin/Made in [enter COO here]" must be printed, embossed or engraved on
each product.
b. The text "The Country Of Origin/Made in [enter COO here]" must also be printed on the shipping
packaging, box, or carton.
7. Ensure that the following items are shipped with each processor:
Note: The contents of the accessory kits cannot be guaranteed to be the same for every shipment. Items that are
bolded and italicized must be shipped with the processor. These parts may or may not be the same HP part
numbers so be sure to ship by description. Example: Ship a power cord that unshielded black NEMA 5-15 to IEC
female, or ship a USB optical two button scroll mouse.
Discard non bolded and italicized contents of the HP kits.

8. Ensure that the following items are shipped with the processor:
The media disk containing the Microsoft Windows 7® operating system and drivers.
9. If a second drive is added for non-RAID, set as drive F: Format as NTFS. Place in the location as per the
figure 3 – Location of Hard Drives #1, #2 and #3 on sheet 25
10. Remove the P0928GC dual-head video card which comes installed in I/O card slot #2 of the P0928GS
processor. Install the Extender Interface PCIe card which comes with either the P0928DV or P0928DU
Remote Human Interface Extender System in I/O card slot #2. Ship the remainder of the Extender System
with the processor.

Press <F10> on boot up to get into the BIOS setup.

Note: After installing the I/O cards the image may need to be restored onto the HP Workstation Z420-2.8 GHz is as
follows:
1. Use Foxboro restore DVD K0174KC.
2. Boot PC from restore DVD
3. Restore image onto hard drive (see below)
4. Adjust page file size for amount of memory installed
Loading the Operating System
This is the procedure for the Invensys restore process of a Z420 workstation.
Boot to DVD ROM:
The system must be configured in BIOS to boot from the DVD/CDROM first.
1. Power on the Z420, press F10 to enter BIOS setup.
2. Verify that the “Optical Drive” is configured first in Storage->Boot Order parameters list.
3. Insert the Invensys restore DVD for Windows 7 SP1 and reboot the machine.
4. The computer will boot to the DVD restore media and a blue screen will appear with the following text:
Z420 Windows 7 OS
Image Restore Media DVD
DO YOU WANT TO CONTINUE?
N = No - Abort and Exit
Y = Restore Z420
5. Enter a "Y" to restore the system.
6. A final warning screen appears with the following text:
WARNING!
You are about to delete the
contents of your hard drive!
Press Y to Continue or N to Abort
8. When the green screen appears remove the DVD media and reboot the station.
9. The station will boot into a Windows environment.

Note: With Windows 7 no modifications to the page file are required. The page file is system managed.

Note:
1. A minimum of two Ethernet cards must be installed and these are for use on The
Mesh control network only. A maximum of four Ethernet cards may be installed. Two of
the installed Ethernet cards must be dedicated for use on The Mesh only.
Refer to sheet 23 for card slot locations.
2. See inside of the case cover for a more detailed location of connection for the HP
Serial Port Ribbon Connector on the motherboard.

The H92*F, Z420 comes preconfigured with 4GB of DDR3 Single Rank DIMMs. These are installed in the
black-tabbed slots labeled as DIMM1, and DIMM8.
NOTE: Refer to the inside of the case cover for detailed locations and placement of memory in the DIMM
slot locations.
Dual, Quad, RGU Video Driver Install (M9120 Dual/Quad and RGU)
Notes:
1. The mouse and keyboard must be connected locally to the workstation until the Matrox driver has been
installed.
2. The USB cable must be connected prior to installing the Matrox driver.
Connect one end of the USB cable included with your product to the USB connector on your interface card.
Connect the other end of your cable to a USB connector on the back of the workstation.
Make sure your connectors are properly connected.
The Matrox driver is included as part of the installed OS.
When loading and configuring optional Matrox video drivers, you must “uninstall” all NVIDIA items loaded as part of
the default operating system using the Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs tool. It is recommended the
NVIDA products be uninstalled and the workstation is rebooted prior to installing and configuring the new driver
2. The Winzip Self Extractor display appears. See Figure 1. Click Unzip.

3. The “Matrox Display Driver Installation, Matrox PowerDesk-SE” dialog box appears. See Figure 2.0. Click Next

4. The installation will detect the older driver and application and request permission to overwrite (See Figure 3).
Check the “Overwrite Matrox display driver settings” box and click Next.
5. The install wizard will warn you of the overwrite selection, select Yes.

6. Continue with the wizard to completion. Click Finish, Close.
7. Reboot the system.
The correct driver and Power Desk application will now be installed on the system.

Configure System BIOS to Enable Embedded SATA RAID 1 Functionality.
1. Install and connect second hard drive in the upper most available SATA location, typically SATA port 1.
2. Turn on (or restart) your computer.
3. During the workstation’s Power-on self-test (POST), press <F10> immediately when the <F9> Boot menu,
<F10> Setup and <F12> Network selections appear at the lower right hand corner of the display. If you wait too
long and the operating system logo appears, continue to wait until you see the Microsoft® Windows® desktop. Then
shut down your computer and try again.
4. Use the arrows to highlight Storage>Storage Options, and then press Enter.
5. Use the up or down arrow key to highlight SATA Emulation.
6. Use the left or right arrow key to select RAID+AHCI.
7. To accept the new setting, press F10.
8. Use the arrows to highlight Advanced>Power-On Options, and then press Enter.
9. Use the up or down arrow key to highlight POST Messages.
10. Use the left or right arrow key to select Enable.
11. To accept the new setting, press F10.
12. Use the arrow keys to highlight Advanced>Device Options, and then press Enter.
13. Use the up or down arrow key to highlight SATA RAID Option ROM Download, and then press Enter.
14. Use the left or right arrow key to select Enable.
15. To accept the new setting, press F10.
16. Use the arrows to highlight File>Save Changes and Exit, and then press Enter.
17. Press F10 when prompted.
The Allied Telesis fiber cards must have specific settings for use with I/A. This process must be done on
each Allied Telesis card installed.
