INTRODUCTION

An Organization is the structural framework of duties and responsibilities required of
personnel in performing various functions with a view to achieve business goals.It is a
social arrangement which pursues collective goals,which controls its own
performance,and which has a boundary separating it from its environment.Organization is
the association formed by a group of people who see that there are benefits available
from working together towards some common goal.Hence, it coordinates different
activities for running the business enterprise efficiently so that the common goal can be
achieved.

Organizational study is the study of individual and group dynamics in an organizational


setting, as well as the nature of organization.Organizational study refers to the study of
organization as a whole and getting adequate knowledge with various departments in the
organization.

Every organization will be the part of an industry. Group of productive enterprises or


organizations that produce or supply goods, services, or sources of income. In economics,
industries are generally classified as primary, secondary and tertiary industries . Primary
industry tends to dominate the economies of undeveloped and developing nations, but as
secondary and tertiary industries are developed, its share of the economic output tends to
decrease.

The study pursued at EARNEY Digital Service Solution is related to service


industry.This study aims to understand the function of EARNEY Digital Service Solution
relation to different departments.The primary requirement of the internship is to get used
to the real work environment. It helps to develop a network which will be useful to
acquire knowledge about industry,know about the skills required, get used to organisation
culture and other aspects of the firm etc. Internships will improve the probability of
getting a full-time employment after completion of graduation. Internships will also help
to learn about work life management, discipline, organization culture, time management
and to develop communication skills.

NEED FOR THE STUDY:

The study was done to achieve the requirement of the M.B.A degree course.The
organization study aims at getting accustomed to the business environment for a period of
one month done(01/12/2020 to 31/12/2020).The main purpose of the study is to know
about applications of the theoretical aspects in M.B.A course in the corporate
environment.The study is also done to have a first experience and exhibit to
organizational culture, policies, work ethics, implementation of concepts studied in
M.B.A degree,procedure and practices done in the organization.

SCOPE OF THE STUDY:

To acknowledge the concepts of service industry in terms of practical experience and to


glance into how a service working environment works.The study is also done to
understand the structure,function and process of various departments and their
interdependence.The study will also have a view over service startup and process done in
the organization. The main scope of the study is done to know about the efficiency of the
service company. The study will focus on the workings of each department and the
efficiency of the services provided to the customers.

services, and services associated with construction.Services industry is also known as
tertiary sector part of the economy. The service sector is the third sector of the economy,

economies.

An organization structure refers to the determination of organization system of the


company.It determines the programs and procedures by which the administrative
relations of an organization are defined and established. No activity of the organization
can go out of this structure. As the policy of the company determines the limits within
which the organization has to work. In the same manner organization structure
determines and defines the shape and size of the company according to which the
administrative and organization decisions have to be taken

TYPES OF ORGANIZATION STRUCTURE

FORMAL ORGANIZATION:

Formal Organization refers to the planned structure of jobs and positions with clearly
defined objectives and functions. It is consciously created by top management for the
accomplishment of company objectives. It is made up of official relationships and
channels of communication. Formal structure is governed by established rules and
procedures. Formal organization tends to be stable and predictable. Thus, it is represented
in the organization chart and manual of the company.

INFORMAL ORGANIZATION:-

Informal organization arises from the personal and social relations of people. It is not
formally designed but develops spontaneously out of interactions between individuals. It
is influenced by personal attitudes, likes and dislikes.People working together in an
enterprise frequently come into contact and develop personal or social relations outside
the formal structure.

The organization structure has the following advantages:-


 Necessary for the management: It is necessary for the management of the
business.In the absence of a clearly defined organization structure, the
management cannot discharge its duties properly. It also tells us about the
managerial approach.

 It reveals the drawback of an organization: Organization structure is an


important document of the company. It serves as the guidelines to explain what
should be done in the company.

 Helpful in delegation: It is also helpful in providing the suitable training to the


employees of the organization and defining their duties. It helps in delegating
proper authority to the employees so that they can discharge their duties
effectively and efficiently.

Therefore, it develops rigid ness in the activities and becomes difficult to make
any changes easily.

 It reveals only the formal relations: A very important drawback of the


organization structure is that it is only a formal document. It defines only the
formal relations among the employees of an organization. But in practice, there

are two types of relations among them. Formal and informal and organization
structure does not define informal relations.
 It creates conflicts: Organization structure makes clear difference in the rights
and duties of all the employees of the organization. It is the feeling of manager
and subordinate among them. It also develops the feeling of superior and inferior.
It also develops the feeling of senior and junior.

TYPES

1. Pre-bureaucratic structure:

This structure is most common in smaller organizations and is best used to solve simple
tasks. They follow a flat hierarchy system.

2. Bureaucratic structure:
They are suited for complex or larger scale operations. Under this structure:-
 Functional structure: This structure groups specialize in similar skills in
separate units. It is well suited to organizations with a single or dominant core
product because each subunit becomes extremely adept at performing its
particular portion of the portion.

 Divisional structure: It is formed when an organization is split up into a number


of self-contained business units, each operating as a profit centre.

3. Line organization:
Line Organization is also known as scalar or military organization. In this structure, there
is a vertical line of authority running from the top to the bottom of the organization. All
individuals at the same level are independent of each other. The authority and
responsibility of each position is specified. The man at the top has the highest authority
and it is reduced at each successive level down the hierarchy. Line organization can be of
two types.

 In pure line organization: All individuals at a given level perform the same type
of work and they are grouped into divisions only to facilitate effective supervision
and control.
 In a departmental line organization: Work performed in each department is of a
different type.

4. Functional organization:

Under functional organization, the organization is divided into a number of functional


areas. Each function is managed by an expert in that area. Every functional area serves all
other areas in the organization. Thus, an individual in the organization receives
instructions from several functional heads. Every functional expert enjoys functional
authority over subordinates in other departments. Within a functional department every
operating executive receives orders from several functional specialists.

5. Line and staff organization:

Line and staff organization is a combination of line and functional structures. Under it,
line authority flows in a vertical line in the same manner as in the line organization. In
addition, staff specialists are attached to line positions to advise on important matters.
These specialists do not have power of command over subordinates in other departments.
They are purely of advisory nature. Thus, staff positions are created to support the line
managers. Every staff specialist, however, has line authority over the subordinates in his
own department.

6. Matrix organization:

Matrix structure has been defined as “any organization that employs a multiple command
system that includes not only the multiple command structure but also related support
mechanism and an associated organizational culture and behavior pattern”. Thus, a
matrix organization is characterized by an overlapping of command, control and behavior
patterns.

MASLOW HIERARCHY OF NEEDS

Maslow’s hierarchy of needs was developed by Abraham Maslow, a specialist in human


behavioural psychology. The hierarchy was first developed to help explain the connection
between basic human needs and human desires.
The hierarchy, often visualised as a pyramid is split into five categories.Unless we have
the fundamental basic human needs at the bottom of the hierarchy we will not strive to
meet any further desires. As each requirement is fulfilled we move up the hierarchy.

1. Physiological needs: These are the underlying needs we as humans can’t live
without.Example:Air,Food.

If these needs are not satisfied the human body cannot function optimally. Maslow
considered physiological needs the most important need

2. Safety needs: Once an individual’s physiological needs are satisfied, the needs for
security and safety become salient. People want to experience order, predictability and
control in their lives. These needs can be fulfilled by the family and society

For example:Emotional security, Financial security (e.g. employment, social welfare).

3. Love and belongingness needs: The third level of human needs is social and involves
feelings of belongingness. The need for interpersonal relationships motivates behavior

4. Esteem needs: Esteem needs are the fourth level in Maslow’s hierarchy - which
Maslow classified into two categories:

(i) esteem for oneself (dignity, achievement, mastery, independence) and

(ii) the desire for reputation or respect from others (e.g., status, prestige).

Maslow indicated that the need for respect or reputation is most important for children
and adolescents and precedes real self-esteem or dignity.

5. Self-actualization needs: Self Actualization needs are the highest level in Maslow's
hierarchy, and refer to the realization of a person's potential, self-fulfillment, seeking
personal growth and peak experiences. Maslow describes this level as the desire to
accomplish everything that one can, to become the most that one can be.

MASLOW HIERARCHY OF NEEDS IN DIGITAL MARKETING:

As businesses consider the progressive layers of Digital Marketing tools at their disposal,
the company believe that to obtain the highest business value; a needs hierarchy similar
to that developed by Maslow should be considered. As an Digital marketing organisation
we get many calls from prospective clients that believe Social Media is going to be the
answer to all their marketing requirements. However at current digital marketing strategy,
the company often find that their website is in need of some attention – generally in the

an organization.It serves as the face of an organization,coordinating and producing all
materials representing the business.Marketing is the process of understanding the
company’s marketplace and competitors ,defining the company market
positioning,pricing and services and promoting the company to the target audience.
