Player’s Turn

On a player’s turn, they must play 1 card from their hand (unless you
don’t have any more card). You can play a card in two ways: as a Consort
or as Schemer.

Playing a card as a Consort

Playing a card as a Consort is the primary way to score Dominance in the
game. Announce that you are playing a card as a Consort, and place it face
up in front of you. As a Consort, its Windfall may be
used at the end of the game to add additional bonus
Dominance points.

Some cards also have a Supporter value at bottom.

Those are the number of supporters you need in
order to play this card as a Consort. You simply place
the number of cards needed (can be any card from
your hand, regardless of its Faction, Dominance, or
Supporter value) underneath the card it is supporting. In order to play the Princess
card as a Consort, she needs
Supporters are played together with the Consort card. 2 Supporter cards

Note: Should a in-play Consort card be removed by any means,

all of its Supporters will returned back to its owner’s hand.

Playing a card as a Schemer

You may also play a card as Schemer. You don’t get its
Dominance or Windfall score at the end, but you get
to use its Schemes. Announce the card you are playing
as a Schemer, and place the card side-way (group apart
from the Consorts) in front of you. Schemers do not Put the card side-way to
indicate that this card
need to have Supporters to play. Follow the action as played as a Schemer
described in its Schemes box.

Grouping

It is important to know how the cards are grouped, as many of the Schemes
and Windfall will only effect cards from a certain group. Here is an example.

Progressing

After a player plays a card, the next clockwise player takes their turn to
play their card. If a player does not have any more cards in their hand
(and only then), they will simply pass. This continues until all players have
played all the cards from their hand. Once that happen, the game moves
on to the scoring phase.

Scoring

Each player adds up the Dominance points of their Consort cards. Then
add up any Windfalls that applied. Schemers and Supporters usually do
not contribute any Dominance, nor count its Windfalls, but certain cards
have exceptions. And they could still
be tallied as part of a card’s Windfall. Note: Dominance points
are usually represented by
this icon in the Windfall.

Example

Let say these is your ending Consorts that you played. You have a General
(who require 1 supporter), a Banker, and a Nobleman. If you count just the
Dominance points on the cards, you’ll see that you only get a measly score
of 5 (3+2). But now to add on the Windfalls. For your General, since he
gains +1 point for each Consorts that is an Imperialist (blue), and you have
two (counting himself), you get 2 more points. For the Banker, you gain +1
point for each Consort you have, thus you get 3 more points. However, the
Nobleman’s Windfall does not count, as its condition was not fulfilled. So
your final score would be that of a 10!

WINNGING!

Declare the number of Dominance points you have. The player with the
most points is named the Winner! Everyone should bow to their new King/
Queen! Should there be a tie, settle it with another game

Variation

Longer Game, Bigger Hand:

For a slightly longer and higher point scoring game, deal out 6, 7, or even 8
cards to each players at the game start.

Draft Mode:
Instead of dealing out cards, start the game by placing all the cards (5
x number of player) face up on the table. In rotation, each player takes
one card and adds it to their hand. Continue until no more cards are left.
Proceed with the game in usual fashion.
