Introduction

Ever since the first GAC (Gulf Agency Company) operation was set up in Kuwait by
Swedish entrepreneur Bengt Lindwall in 1956, the Group has evolved into the widely-
recognised global provider of integrated shipping, logistics, marine and related services it is
today. GAC’s globalisation strategy is to use steady and consistent geographical expansion,
achieved through organic / opportunistic growth, joint ventures, partnerships and
acquisitions. GAC is local in action and global in attitude.

GAC takes full advantage of its diversity of portfolio of services, its worldwide
infrastructure, resources and expertise to deliver integrated solutions that result in time and
cost efficiency. Sectors like the oil & gas industry, in particular, benefit from GAC’s unique
ability to offer a tailor-made service package covering ship agency, bunker fuels, project
logistics, offshore logistics, and more. Other sectors that can benefit from the wide range of

GAC’s shipping; logistics and marine services are co-ordinated by regional offices in
Houston, Cairo, Dubai and Singapore. The Corporate head office is located in Jebel Ali, in
the United Arab Emirates. Working together with trusted local partners, the company is
represented in more than 300 offices, covering over 1,000 locations worldwide.

• Shipping was GAC’s first business unit, dating back to when their first office opened
in Kuwait, to provide lightering and ship agency services in 1956. Today, GAC
Shipping is one of the world’s biggest providers of services to ship owners and
operators.
• The Logistics operation originated from our forwarding, warehousing and distribution
operations in Dubai. Today, GAC Logistics has grown into a global network
providing a rich array of general and specialist logistics services.
• GAC’s Marine operation centres around their modern and expanding fleet of supply
craft and barges that provide vital support for offshore exploration, construction and
production, heavy lift cargo towage, etc. GAC Marine operates in key locations in the
Middle East Gulf, West Africa and Caspian Sea.
• GAC Solutions is the ideas hothouse of the Group, charged with forming strategic
partnerships with world-class producers and suppliers to create new ‘out of the box’
services tailored to the needs of their customers.

GAC in India
Established in 1983, GAC (India) pvt.Ltd has grown steadily to offer a true one-stop for all
shipping, logistics and distribution needs.GAC India is headquartered in Cochin, Queen of
the Arabian sea and operates 24 other fully fledged offices

The world's most populous democracy, India has a fast growing economy and is considered
part of the BRIC group (along with Brazil, Russia & China) of key emerging global markets.
Major industries include textiles, chemicals, food processing, steel, transport equipment,
cement, mining, petroleum, machinery and software. Major imports include crude oil,
machinery, gems, fertilizers, chemicals.

GAC India's extensive network of offices provides a full range of professional shipping,
logistics and marine services throughout the country. They also operate a state-of-the-art
offshore support base at Kakinada.

Freight Services

• Ocean freight -GAC’s have contracts in place with many of the world major ocean carriers
in the key trades to/from Asia, USA, Middle East, Europe and Africa. It meets all
international security standards and is a registered member of governing commissions in all
end user markets. LCL Ocean freight consolidations are also available.

• Air freight-GAC’s global air freight capability delivers cargo to all cities, countries and
continents. Global partnerships with major air carriers give customers priority access to
competitive rates and space allocations. Collection at origin, customs clearance and delivery
to consignee are monitored via our global tracking system, GAC freight, giving complete
visibility throughout the movement.
• Sea/Air freight-A pioneer of the Sea-Air Freight concept, GAC delivers a significant
cost advantage to merchants, particularly those operating with low inventories in fast
moving industries such as electronics, fashion and footwear. GAC Sea-Air trade lanes
link Asia, Europe and the United States with their specialised Sea/Air service. Our
leading processes and procedures ensure we expedite transfers through GAC's airport
hubs in Dubai and Singapore, delivering shippers significant savings of up to one
third on "all air" costs and 40% on "all sea" transit times

• Clearing and forwarding services-GAC has the local know-how and global
resources to provide full clearing and forwarding services for shipments to destinations
worldwide, as well as efficient final delivery to destination customers.

Land Transportation

GAC offers a diverse range of transportation services from Heavy Project Cargo to
international transportation and domestic retail distribution and delivery. Our vehicles are
operating in over 50 countries worldwide under our own banner or under client livery.

Warehousing & Distribution

GAC operates warehousing and distribution services in the Middle East, Europe, Asia and
Africa serving major manufacturers and retailers.

Their facilities amount to more than 250,000 square metres of premium multi-temperature
storage with web-enabled inventory tracking and storage for standard pallet, shelved, hanging
garment and bulk commodities.

Key facilities are located in Dubai (UAE), Bahrain, Qatar, the Netherlands, United Kingdom,
Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Philippines.

Protection and Indemnity

GAC has represented International Group P&I Clubs since 1973. Since inception they have
continued to expand their network and are now considered a leader in the field. GAC have
correspondent offices in Africa, the Mediterranean, Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and Far
East. Experienced P&I staff are available at all times to handle incidents and manage claims.
Their P&I team comprises experienced claims handlers with legal and technical expertise and
maintains excellent relationships with local authorities and port officials to help expedite case
handling and minimise a Principal’s financial exposure.

Ship Agency

GAC is one of the world’s largest ship agencies with a long standing reputation for quality
service. They represent more than 3,500 Principals and handle more than 50,000 vessels
annually through a worldwide network consisting of:

Project Logistics

Project Logistics requires specialized experience, commitment and flexibility to execute


complex cargo movements. GAC’s global network and solid track record provide the skills
and strength that guarantees safe and timely delivery worldwide.

GAC operates in wide variety of sectors which have project logistics needs, including oil &
gas, mining, pulp & paper, automotive, construction, power & energy and military and aid
cargo. The GAC focus is always on safety, running very strict HSSE procedures on any
project move.

GAC operates its own barges, with high loading capacity, high freeboard and with deck
strength up to 15 ton per m². GAC barges are ideally suited for heavy project cargo, such as
transformers, generators, evaporators or similar equipment. Ballastable tanks make these
vessels very suitable for Ro-Ro operations and their project handling capabilities include:

GAC has the complete set of tools to handle any sized project, from a single domestic
delivery to a complex, multi origin and multi modal project.

Ship Supply Service

Time and money are key considerations for ship Masters, owners and operators. That’s why
GAC created its Ship Supply Service (SSS) to provide the most efficient way to exchange
officers & crew and deliver spares & provisions to vessels, without requiring them to divert
from their course or stop. Using fast, air-conditioned supply and crew launches, GAC
operates round-the-clock from SSS bases in the U.A.E., Oman, Singapore and Nigeria.

All their Ship Supply staff and crew are STCW95-licensed. They conduct regular drills and
undergo rigorous training on incident handling including spills, collisions, medevacs,
grounding and fire.

Transfer Services

GAC has extensive experience in ship-to-ship transfers. Its operating company, GAC
Transfer Services (GTS), offers global reach in the supply of mooring masters and all
necessary transfer equipment from bases in Dubai, Fujairah, Malta, Cyprus, Kalundborg,
Fredrikshavn and Vietnam. GTS specialises in petroleum bulk liquid, and liquefied gas cargo
transfers between all sizes of vessels.

GTS is an accredited ISO 9001-2008, ISO 14001-2004 & OHSAS 18001:2007 Company for
the provision of ship-to-ship transfer services. All transfer operations are carried out as per
the latest edition of the OCIMF guidelines.

International Moving

Whether relocating home or office, GAC plans and executes a door to door service that
includes detailed survey reports, expert packing/crating and efficient forwarding.
Comprehensive door to door insurance is also available on all air and sea shipments.

Offshore Support

GAC Marine supports various phases of offshore exploration, construction and production,
including anchor handling for derrick lay barges as well as pipe joint transportation. Barges
ranging in size from 150 - 280 feet are used to carry pipe and offshore structures such as
jackets and topsides. AHTS and Utility vessels transport supplies and personnel necessary to
sustain drilling and production activities.
Supply Chain Management

Global supply chain management is a critical success factor for manufacturers and retailers in
many industries. From raw materials to retail distribution, our analysts and operations
