Read the following slowly and clearly:
1. You are not allowed to leave the room once the test has started.
2. Do not click anything on the screen of your computer until you are told to do so.
3. Questions on the directions or on any test item will not be entertained once the
test has started.
4. Select your answer from the given choices that corresponds to your answer. You
can return to the test items WITHIN THE SUB-TEST and change your answer
if there is still time and if you haven’t submitted your answers.
5. Read and answer each question as fast as you can so that you can finish the test
within the allotted time. Once you have clicked “START ATTEMPT”, the timer
runs automatically.
6. Work quietly and mind only your own work. Each of you has a unique set of test;
thus, you may finish at different time depending on your own pace.
7. Do not use any references or electronic devices inside the Testing Room.
V.2.2. Log-in
After you have read the guidelines, distribute the log-in stubs of the examinees. Make
sure that the correct log-in stubs are given to the examinees. SAY:
Everybody, look at your log-in stubs. (Pause). Check if your name, username and
password are printed. If you notice that the stub is not yours, raise your hand and I will
replace it.
On your screen, click on Log-in. Type in your user name and password EXACTLY AS IT
IS on your the log-in stub. (Pause). You will be asked to change your password. Create
your own password to secure your account. To do this, type your current password, the
one indicated in your log-in stub. Next, type in your new password. Your new password
should have at least 1 uppercase letter, 1 lowercase letter, 1 special character and 1
digit. Retype it in the box below and then click Save Changes. You don’t need to
remember your new password because you can only access and attempt answering the
test today.

Examinees’ screen should appear as this:
After making sure that everyone has finished changing their password, proceed to the
test proper and SAY:
Next is accessing the test. On the left of your screen, click on My Courses then click on
EPT. Do not click or open anything yet after accessing the test.

V.2.5. General Instructions and Descriptive Questionnaire
After making sure that everyone has accessed the EPT in My Courses, proceed to the
General Instructions and Descriptive Questionnaire and SAY:
Click on General Instructions and read. (Pause). After reading, click on Descriptive
Questionnaire at the bottom right.
In the Descriptive Questionnaire, you need to provide some basic information such as
Region, Division Office, Name of Testing Center (or this school), Gender, Birthday,
Age, Civil Status, and Field/Area of Specialization. Do not leave any item blank.
Submit your answers by clicking on the “Finish attempt” at the bottom right of your
screen. When you click “Finish attempt”, you will see the summary of your attempt. It
will show “Answer saved” if you have provided an answer and “Not yet answered” if
you have left it blank. You may review it by clicking “Return to attempt” and click
“Finish attempt” again if you have time left. Once you have finalized your answers,
click “Submit all and finish”. A confirmation message will pop-up to double-check
if your answers are final. If yes, click “Submit all and finish.” If no, click “Cancel”
and go over the same procedure as instructed.
Do not proceed to any test after submitting your answers. We will start the next part
altogether.
Click on “Attempt quiz now” then “Start Attempt” and provide your answers.
After going around to check if the examinees are done with the Descriptive
Questionnaire, SAY:
Is everybody done answering the Descriptive Questionnaire? (Pause and hear their
response or ask them to do a thumbs up). We will now proceed to the test proper.
There is a time limit for each sub-test- 15 minutes for English Structure, 25 minutes
for Written Expression, and 50 minutes for Reading Comprehension. At this point, you
will answer all the subtests on your own. You need to work at your own pace so please
do self-monitoring of time. You will see the time left at the Quiz Navigation portion at
the right side. You can also choose to browse the items first using the Quiz Navigation
by clicking the items you wish to preview. You may do these within the same subtest
only. You can also know if you have answered the item already once the box is half-
shaded. You don’t need to wait for my go signal to start with the next subtest or to
wait for others to finish.
All your answers will automatically be recorded even if the time has ended. You
may also submit your answers ahead of the time limit by clicking on “Finish attempt”
at the bottom of the last question or item. If you are done with one sub-test, you may
immediately start with the other sub-test. Do not run two subtests simultaneously
because the time will run for both subtests. This will decrease your time allotment in
one of the subtests.
You may now start answering the test. Begin with English Structure by clicking on
“English Structure”. Then, click “Attempt quiz now”. A confirmation message will
appear to ensure you want to start attempt now. Click “Start attempt.” Once you
have finished answering the items, click “Submit all and finish”. A confirmation
message will pop-up to double-check if your answers are final. If yes, click “Submit
all and finish.” If no, click “Cancel” and go over the same procedure as instructed.
Click on “Back to the course” to select another sub-test after finishing your attempt.
Do the same for Written Structure and Reading Comprehension.
If you are done with all the subtests, make sure to log out your account. The log-
out button can be found at the upper right part of your screen. Surrender the log-in
stub to me, sign out in the attendance sheet, get your bag and leave the room quietly.
Results of the test will be forwarded to the division office. Do not follow up your test
results directly to BEA.
Go around and see to it that the examinees have started answering the test.
