A growing number of children are participating in talent and reality shows on TV. Some
people regard this as an opportunity for youngsters to exhibit their skills and talents and
believe it will enable them to become successful professionals later in life. However, others
claim that it is unethical to exploit children for entertainment purposes. What is your opinion
on this issue?
Recently there has been a significant (σημαντικος) increase in TV talent shows and it seems
that the participants are getting younger and younger. On the one hand, parents push their
children into the limelight in the belief that they help them with their future career. On the
other hand, psychologists warn parents about the possible trauma of their participation. As
far as I am concerned (In my opinion), this tendency (τάση) should be discouraged

On the other hand, it is believed that children’s participation in such shows would make them
more mature and responsible. A youngster that participates in such contests works on his
skills on a day-to- day basis and at the same time (simultaneously) develops as a person. He
learns to be responsible for the tasks he has to execute and realises that he has to show
some kind of improvement in front of the audience and the judges. Therefore, his
participation gives him discipline; a characteristic that proves to be significant later on in
adult life.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that children should not take part in such shows as the
psychological aspect is the most important of all.
Essay topic: Many parents with talented teenagers do their utmost to exploit these talents
and put their children on the road to fame. These parents insist that this offers their
offspring great opportunities, guaranteed professional careers and financial security as
adults. However, opponents (αντίπαλοι) maintain (διατείνομαι) that adolescents are put under
too much pressure too early in their lives. What is your opinion on the issue?
Introduction
A growing number of teenagers are emerging (εμφανιζομαι στο προσκήνιο)as stars and
entertainers , having been pushed into limelight by parents who are ambitious on their
behalf. Such parents are convinced that they are assisting their children in building a
brighter future for themselves, securing fame, fortune and fulfilment. As far as I am
concerned, this tendency should be discouraged.
