Dawaer foundation is a non-governmental, not for profit, non- partisan organization established
in 2015 by a team of motivated activists who build on their extensive diverse experiences to
reach a democratic peaceful society respectful of human rights.
Vision:
A society where youth and children are resilient and protected from violence.
Mission:
Dawaer is committed to increasing the resilience of children and youth through promoting their
rights and empowering them and mobilizing their critical thinking to become responsible global
citizens who are capable of expressing themselves freely and be agents of change.
Dawaer works with educational institutions, families and communities to enhance child and
youth rights and freedom of expression and protect youth from violence. Dawaer also works with
decision makers to lobby for laws that enhance youth and human rights.

Dawaer’s Objectives
- Empowering youth to build peace and building their resilience against hate speech
- Empowering youth to become central actors and key multipliers in
preventing, reporting and critically responding to violent and discriminatory narratives
- Enhance caregivers’ capacity to ensure better child physical, mental, moral and social
development
- Enhance the resilience of children and caregivers through offering individual and group
psychosocial support.

Action Plan
Dawaer’s action plan is designed to improve prevention of violence among youth and children
through
specialized activities reaching out to different target groups working closely with children,
namely educational settings, Parents, caregivers, service providers, Orphanages, scouts, Ministry
of Social Affairs Development Centers among others.
Objectives: Conduct the conflict analysis in selected villages in mount Lebanon and
creation of local sustainable groups capable of implementing their mechanism of social
stability
4. “Their Stories” in partnership with Dutche Welle Akademie and funding from the
Eurpoean Union (2019-20210)
Objective: Sensitize 25 youth on human rights and priorities in their communities and
violations and empower them to advocate through producing stories and campaigns
using online and social media platforms.
5. “Establishing Media Information Literacy clubs in five schools” all over Lebanon in
partnership with UNESCO (2018-2019)
Objective: Support eight “peace building committees” in the area of Mount Lebanon to
enhance social cohesion and non-violent conflict resolution especially among refugee and
host communities.
7. “Enhance the image of female film professionals in the Maghreb-Mashreq region” in
partnership with UNESCO, European Union and UN Women (2018-2019)
Objective: Train 20 Lebanese and Syrian activists in the area of Qaa on enhancing human
right values and skills and conflict resolution using interactive activities and games to
become capable of implementing human right activities with youth and more than 150
children in the area.
9. “New Media Youth” in partnership with UNESCO and the European Union in the
framework of the regional project “NETMED YOUTH” (2017-2018)
Objective: Creation of youth media clubs in the areas of Kfarzabad, Qubayat and Bireh
where youth are capable of disseminating media literacy among their peers and in their
communities.
Objective: Developing the capacities of 20 Lebanese and Syrian activities in the area of
Qaa on media information literacy and photography techniques so that they become
capable of producing an alternative image.
Objective: Developing the capacities of 30 social workers at the MUBs University and
“Teach for Lebanon” on transmitting human right skills and values through interactive
activities and games.
Objective: Developing the capacities of 20 social workers at the Ministry of Social Affairs
on transmitting human right skills and values through interactive activities and games.
13. “One-Day Campaign” (2016) in partnership with the MUBs, Teach for Lebanon and
Sunbula.
Objective: Implementing human right games and activities with more than 200 Syrian
refugee children in the area of Anjar in Bekaa.

Objective: Enhancing the resilience of 30 Syrian and Palestinian women and 8 teachers
in Burj Al Barajneh camp, in coordination with Bet Atfal Assumoud, to become capable
of dealing with stress and enhancing their self-esteem through breathing techniques.
