AxSys Solution

The AxSys is an Asterisk server based IP PBX solution which can handle various operations like call
routing, conference, paging, ring group, voice mails etc. AxSys is a browser based solution which can
be accessed through a URL. Users can make asterisk configurations through GUI based on the access
permission provided.
The application is hosted in a server machine which can be the same server with asterisk. This
application will work on tomcat web container. All users are able to connect to the server through http
protocol, ie. Using web browser.
This application will enable the user to configure the asterisk server from a web interface.
Administrative user is able to change the settings of asterisk server and restart and reload the settings
from the browser itself without knowing much about the PBX server and all.
System Requirements
See the below table for more details on hard ware requirements:
Hardware Quad core server with 16 GB RAM
Hard disc space 20 GB HDD space for Asterisk and GUI Application for
configuration including database.
Operating System Linux – centOS 5 or higher
PBX Server Asterisk 1.4.21 or higher

Application Server / Container Tomcat 5.5.25 or higher

Database MySql 5.0.45 or higher

Browser Flock 1.2.5 or higher / Firefox 2.0 or higher

Login to Application

URL
Enter the url in a browser http://<server ip address>:<port>/PBXSchool/index.jsp which will bring
the login page.
<server-ip-address> - This can be either ip address or the host name of the application server.

Login page
This page will allow the users to login and do the configuration for PBX server as well as application
specific action like user creations, etc.

Field / Action Description

Login id User id for login to the application

Password Pass word for the user which is a secret alpha numeric value.

User Login Click on the button once the user id and password filled properly to login

Result On Successful login


System will allow the user to login and bring the menu page once user entered
the id and password and matched with the record in server.
When login fails
1. System will pop up error message when user clicked on login without
entering login id and password
2. System shows error messages just below the login button if failed to
login using the given user id and password
Menu / Main interface page
The menu page will be displayed once user logged in properly. This page contain various links to other
pages including Logout button on top of the page. User is able to access different configuration pages
as well asterisk commands using the menu.

Field / Action Description

Logout (on right top extreme) . Click on the same will log out from the application and
stop working around AxSys GUI

Click on this will open the sub menus under PBX Settings.
System PBX Server related actions, Click on this menu will open the sub menu.

Voice Mail Click on the voice mail menu will bring the sub menu for the same

Application Settings Click on this menu will open the sub items under this.

Options Click on this menu will open the sub menu the options

Reports Will be provided in next version.


PBX Settings
Dial Plan List
This menu option will allow the user to configure the dial plans using the predefined contexts. The list
of existing dial plans will be displayed when user click on the menu. User is able to click on the New
Dial Plan button to create dial plans.

+New Dial Plan To add a new dial plan based on the predefined contexts.

Click on edit action button against each dial plan will allow the user to alter
the dial plan data

Click on delete action button against each dial plan will allow the user to
delete the dial plan data

Click on display action button against each dial plan will allow the user to
view the dial plan data

Field / Action Description

Dial Plan Name Name of new dial plan to be created

Include outgoing Not required for the time being. So, the field is locked
calling rules

Choose Local Choose one or all of the predefined contexts.


contexts Defaults, Parked Calls, Conferences, Ring groups, voice menus, queues and
Paging.

Save Save the data

Cancel Clear the data within the page.

Delete => Remove the record if there is no related records exists.
