Telling the client what exactly a music video is, to guide them in the right direction and
eliminate any confusion or ignorance from the start, to ensure the best product at the
end. This was pitched into my presentation and said at the beginning.

The brief history of music videos, to educate the client on how music videos have
changed over time. Gives the client a better understanding and context of the music
video industry and the making of music videos. This was included in my pitch.

I used my own knowledge for this section, as I focused on one particular case study
which required my own observations and interpretations.

Informing the client on how product placement works, given an elucidated example.
This gave the client ideas on how to incorporate product placement in their own music
videos, now knowing the importance of it for marketing and recognition purposes.

Informing the client on what synergy, with given examples, to allow them to explore their
options of incorporating synergy into their own product. Giving the client information on
the importance of synergy and how it can be used as a marketing strategy for their
music video, to increase the likeliness of success. The case studies I used were Titanic
and its synergy with Celine Dion, as well as The Fate of the Furious, and its synergy
with the music video Go Off. These are both recognised projects which will appeal to
the client. These were presented in my pitch.

Informing the client on the different roles present in the process of music video
production, to ensure they are fully aware and content with the production of their own
video. Knowing the different roles will not only educate the client, but allow them to be
more invested and hands on, knowing the different roles involved and eliminating
ignorance and confusion.

Informing the client on what a promotional video is and how it can be used for their own
benefit, given examples of promotional videos such as intro videos and advertisements.
This is to give the client as much support and guidance possible in order to promote
their video for success, with all information given in my pitch presentation.

Information given, why and how:


Music Video Analysis on different types of music videos. For these case studies, I used
the music videos Icon by Jaden Smith, Power by Kanye West and Ross Cappichioni by
Joyner Lucas. These are all different types of music videos, which gives the client a
range of ideas and knowledge. For this analysis, I included elements such as costume,
colour, synergy, as well as camera shots and angles. These examples can aid the client
in implementing similar ideas into their own production, and giving numerous examples
with different themes increases the experimental area for the client, which can greatly
benefit them and their production. I made these case studies into separate slideshows
with links to the music videos themselves.
