A book dedicated to the muse of photographer Bruno Stettler, Corinne (aka Colli, Coco, Acid),
with whom he worked between 1980 and 1986. A key figure in Zurich's party scene in the 1980s,
she played a pivotal role in getting the photographer access to numerous celebrity figures and
musicians, among them David Bowie, Public Enemy, Motorhead, and the Beastie Boys. Corinne,
who passed away in 2016 at the age of 53, was not just a party girl, groupie, and model - she
would also take on different personalities. In private portraits and snapshots from backstage or
out the city, Stettler captures her many facets, her kinetic, one-of-a-kind character, and her
femme fatale allure.

As with practically everything else in 2020, the publication of this instalment of 'Record' was
delayed by the global pandemic. And as people were being told to stay inside and "telework"
became the buzzword in many countries, it occurred to Daido Moriyama that what he does for a
living would probably have to be called "footwork". So he grabbed his camera and a face mask
and went out into the streets. Naturally, there was only a scattering of people about, and most
shops were shuttered, so it felt to him sort of like walking through open movie sets. This volume,
however, contains a selection of other pictures taken shortly before and up to the time when the
coronavirus hit.

Born in Tehran, photographer Bahman Jalali (1944-2010) played a significant role in educating a
new generation of Iranian photographers. Over the course of three decades, he taught
photography at several universities in Iran. Jalali lived during one of contemporary Iran's most
crucial periods, and turned to documentary photography to register the changes brought upon the
Iranian people and their living environment by rapid modernisation, revolution, and war. He
travelled extensively throughout the country, and saw the front lines of the Iran-Iraq War. 'The
Familiar Stranger' presents a selection of images from three collections, along with portraits of
Iranians of various ethnicities.

Domon Ken (1909-1990), who moved to Tokyo at a young age and started out as a news
photographer in 1933, made a lasting mark on photography's legacy in Japan. Active during a
period of war, reconstruction, and growth, he witnessed the rapid changes that took place across
Japan and its society. He photographed people and their reality with intense passion and
persistence, and also used a large-format camera to document the traditional culture and ancient
temples that inspired him in his quest to capture the essence of being Japanese. This book
appears on the 33rd anniversary of the opening of the Ken Domon Museum of Photography in his
birthplace of Sakata, Yamagata.

What if the person you trusted the most ended up in prison? Many people cannot imagine that a
close relative would commit a crime. Yet this book offers a photographic series of the families of
detainees, who are suddenly confronted with ethical questions that put their relationships under
great pressure. And with that, a long process of re-evaluation begins. While the lives of the
families continue, the imprisoned persons enter a sort of time capsule. 'Family Stranger' aims to
create awareness of the struggles that these families endure, shedding light on a topic that is
often considered taboo. Just like the criminal relative, the family can be socially convicted as well.

Claudia den Boer's second photobook is about connecting to something that has existed for a
long time, to slow down, to be still, to look, and look again. Why do we tend to pick up stones?
We toss them in the water, or take them as souvenirs. In doing so, we seem to seek connection
to the earth, or maybe even to eternity. It is precisely this connection that Den Boer was
searching for when she picked up stones in the Sahara and Tibet, around Montserrat and in the
Georgian Caucasus. Through photographic studies, she examines the experience of light, scale,
perspective, and spatiality in an eclectic and meditative selection of images depicting mountains,
rocks, and stones.

In this book, Italian photographer Giovanni Zaffagnini collects the shots he has taken of a number
of private libraries, wherever they may exist. Some are obviously situated in living rooms, studies,
ateliers, or attic spaces, while the locations of others might be a bit more surprising. These
fascinating images of densely packed auxiliary spaces, overflowing cabinets, or shelves of books
from floor to ceiling are certainly any bibliophile's dream, yet depending on the type of books and
how they are organised, Zaffagnini's photographs also leave us searching for clues as to the
individuals behind these collections. Libraries, after all, can be deceptive. With a text by Eugenio
Baroncelli.

Since the 1970s Hiroshi Sugimoto has earned global acclaim for photographic works combining
sophisticated large-format camera techniques with conceptual motifs. Sugimoto's interests also
include collecting art and historical documents from different times and places, architecture, and
theatre directing. All are facets of his ongoing exploration of the concept of time, human
perception, and the origins of consciousness. This first major exhibition by Sugimoto at a Kyoto
museum presents an overview of all his work.

A limited supplement volume to Melbourne-based designer and publisher Tim Coghlan's 2018
book 'Hell's Gates' - which was published in an edition of 666 copies - 'Hell's Gates: Notre
Damned, An Act of God' again draws on the ubiquity of shared images depicting the burning and
decimation of a house of worship. As the book's title suggests, here, Coghlan directs his strategic
Google Images searches to photographs of the blaze that felled Paris's famed Notre Dame
cathedral in April 2019.
