PRACTICE
1. PREPARE THE INGREDIENTS
Take some small fruits and put them in a “balancing” setup. When you like the setup,
put them on the fork and fix them together with long needles.

2. ASSEMBLING THE SET

Prepare a wooden skewer stuck in a piece of plasticine, a couple of clamps, a glue gun,
a light source, a camera and a tripod. Check that everything is holding tightly together
and stick the fork in the block of wet foam.

3. LIGHTING
Use two flashes, one inside the strip box on the right (1/16 power) and another one
behind a large diffuser on the left and a bit to the front as a fill-in light (1/32 power).
Put a piece of white cardboard paper at the front to reflect the light on the fork. Set your
exposure to flash synchronization. Also, test the diameter of the aperture before taking
the shot.

4. TAKE THE SHOT

Make your equipment water-proof, prepare some towels and shoot the splashes in short
bursts.

5. POST-PROCESSING
Choose the best shots and combine them. Put each photo in its own separate layer
and hide all unnecessary details with masks. Edit supports you couldn’t hide. Adjust
contrast and brightness.
