Altered Tin with Faerie Song Stamps

This is such a fun little item to make. It’s small, very quick, and easy to make.
With the saying from Faerie Song that I picked to go with this image, I can
imagine using this as a gift box for someone with a lovely compass inside as the
gift.

Instructions:

1. Cut the circles from white cardstock and the patterned paper using the circle
cutting system.

2. Stamp the faerie onto the center of the 3” white cardstock circle using Rich
Cocoa Memento ink. Color the image using Copic markers. Use the olive
greens to color the hat, shirt and tights. Color the shoes with the burnt umber
marker. Use the sea foam marker for the wings. Color the mushroom cap dots
with the red marker and the gills and trunk of the mushroom using the sand
marker. Using the white gel pen, color some streaks of white on the gills and the
trunk of the mushroom. Color the grass with the remaining greens. Outline the
cloud with a yellow marker and take a little color away from the outer edge of the
yellow using the colorless blender. Color the surrounding sky using the frost blue
marker. Use the colorless blender again to take away a little of the blue color
where it meets the yellow. Make the image stand out slightly by outlining the
faerie, mushroom, and grasses with the gray marker.

3. Use the Glue pen to apply glue to the entire cloud and put some white fun
flock on the tacky glue. Allow the glue to set for a few minutes and tap off excess
flocking.

4. Apply Icicle Stickles to the wings. Allow to dry.

5. Apply some cocoa ink to an art sponge and rub most of it off on a scrap piece
of paper. Apply a very light amount of the ink remaining on the sponge to the sky
area using a circular motion.

6. Using the Perfect Paper Adhesive, glue the image piece onto the lid of the tin.
Apply Copper Stickles around the outer edge of the image piece. Set aside to
dry.

7. Apply Tacky Glue around the edge of the lid and glue the red grosgrain ribbon
around leaving an unglued tail that will go past the bottom center of the tin/image.
See photo above. Thread the buckle and position it so that it is directly “below”
the image. Trim the end of the ribbon and glue the tail end down.
8. Using the Perfect Paper Adhesive, adhere the strip of patterned paper around
the bottom of the tin. See photo above. Set the bottom half of the tin on a piece
of red felt and trace the circle. Cut the felt inside the traced line and adhere the
felt to the inside bottom of the tin.

9. Adhere the patterned paper circle to the inside of the top of the tin using the
Perfect Paper Adhesive. Stamp the saying onto the 2 ½” circle of white
cardstock using the cocoa ink pad. Adhere this to the center of the patterned
paper circle inside the top of the tin using the same glue. Allow to dry.
