(2,1,0), u3 = (3,1,-2).

(b). If vectors a1, a2, and a3 are linearly independent, determine whether the vectors
i). a1-a2, a2-a3, a3-a2
ii). a1+a2, a2+a3, a3+a1
are linearly independent or not.
4. (a). Find the area of the parallelogram spanned by the vectors X=(2,−1,4) and Y=(3,-7,4).
(b). Find the volume of the parallelepiped spanned by the vectors X=(3,-1, 3), Y=(2,5,-2), and

Z=(-2, 5, 0).
5. (a). Rank(A)=3. Determine a and b.

6. Find the equation of the line
(a). Going through the points P(1,3,2) and Q(2,5,-6)
(b). Containing a point P(1,-2,4) and perpendicular to a plane given by the equation
3x+4y+7z=15.
7. (a). Consider x, y ! ∈ ℜ with

(b). Consider N to be the set of natural numbers i.e. N = {1,2,3,4…..}. Is N a real vector
space. If it is not, state the reasons.
(c). Argue, if the set of all infinite sequences of real numbers is a vector space.
