GENERAL TREND
The general long term trend is up. We are still in equity mode.

ACTION
No action is needed.

INFO
As our clients are invested in shariah funds affected by Malaysian and China stock markets, the
analysis here is confined to these two markets. Analysis is done with our proprietary UT-XRAY
system.
MALAYSIAN MARKET (KLCI)

We can deduce certain characteristics of the Kuala Lumpur Composite Index from the chart
above.
1. The index tends to stay between the second and third red line from the top
2. The general direction is still up as seen in the direction of the red lines. Don’t switch to
bond just yet.
As the index hits the second red line from the top, it cannot move much further until it hits the
third red line (below), which happened recently when the market had a huge selloff which can’t
really be explained except by the fact that market psychology has its trend, up and down, short
term and long term, affecting supply and demand. This can be observed nicely from the chart
above.
If you may find it hard to understand the above, just imagine that the market move upward now,
but does so in a zig zag motion (up and down) between the second and third red lines you see
above (there are 5 red lines).

See next page for analysis on the China markets.

CHINA MARKET (HANG SENG INDEX)

The trend is similarly up in the Hang Seng Index (Hong Kong) market, although the up and
down move is more significant than of the Malaysian market.
CHINA MARKET (SHANGHAI)

The Shenzhen Composite Index is also in the uptrend, but it is far more volatile.

TREND STRENGTH
There is still strength in the current uptrend. In the event that the strength weakens significantly
or the direction change, we will insyaAllah advise for switching.
